So, are you making an actual 3D remake of Oddysee (similar to Munch's Oddysee) rather that a 2D remake with 3D graphics?

yea its competely 3D. with every door linked directly (doors in foreground no longer link to doors i background)

Well, since you're doing it that way, it would probably serve the game better if you didn't follow the 2D level structure. You could make your own level structure which would allow you more freedom.

I kind of like how he is structuring the levels though. It is 3d, but keeps a certain level of familiarity with the original levels; not that he shouldn't create wider spaces where needed, though.

Yeah i fully agree with you.

I am following the structure as close as possible with regards to object placement and the level design but am adapting certain parts, like moving doors and linking them directly in 3D (this is hard to explain but I will put a pic of my layout on here asap to illistrate what I mean).

It will make more sense with my next set of clips that I am currently working on.

All of my objects are in .lwo format (lightwave) and I am currently working on low, medium and high poly models for draw distance purposes and trying to keep the poly count to whats necesary in the given scene.

This is the first few screens of Abes oddysee in 3D that I am making. This consists of the first introductory screens and the first secret area of the game hidden behind the barrel.

There are a few glitches down to camera angles which I will alter in the near future.

Hey STM Sorry I'm still getting use to this forum

I'm still looking for a programmer preferably someone who knows a third person engine. So no pos of a demo yet In the mean time I will be modelling the rest of the game and characters.

unfortunately not yet, just Abe so far. and the only reason I made him already is because Larry Shapiro wanted to see my character modeling abilities. but my plan is the next character to be made will more than likely be a slig.

I would make slig's, abe, mudokons and slogs, that way you have all the characters you need for rupturefarms

I would make slig's, abe, mudokons and slogs, that way you have all the characters you need for rupturefarms
Abe and the mudokons are already done just have to texture them differently. Slig is next and will then make slog. Before modelling the characters I am going to complete the entire rupture farms all four zulags and the boardroom so could take a few months.

As soon as they are made I will post them on here

I am going to use all sounds and music from the original game. As for cut scenes I havent thought that far ahead yet but more than likely my own.

You, my friend are FREAKING AMAZING! This could be big, I mean BIG and you should definitely keep working on it! Perhaps a bit more texture on the trees if possible, and in some areas of the ground.

yea i know the trees need more work, but im still tryin to get the alpha chanels working right. there'll be more of rupture farms soon tho :-D

I was clarifying that the consequences for double posts are more serious than neg-rep. I'd like to take this opportunity, also, to condemn STM for making a misleading post, which is a step down from his usual pointless and hard to read dribble.

The FAQ is an automatic creation of vBulletin (the software OWF uses) that should explain its features, but I can't vouch for its accuracy because I don't think I've ever read it.
