I remember this one time some kids were making fun of a girl in the 1st grade because she couldn't swim. I tried to defend her by yelling back at them.

The teacher made me sit in the hallway, it taught me that I should never interfere with a bully.

Now this just knocks me on my ass. Who was this guy and what the hell is his issue? What, were the little shits paying him off or something?

If the victim can't block a bully, where are loved ones around the victim? Why do parents not see this and act on it. Why does the school not act on it? Why doesn't anyone tell the victim to suck it up and K.O the fuck out of that bully?

You don't tell me that threats and physical violence go unnoticed in any size school. The parents or at least the school has to be aware of it, so why is nothing done about it? Why is the police not brought in? Why do I have so many questions?!

Havoc I think you need to realise their is a vast difference between occasionally slipping an insult into an statement and continuous harassment and threats. Although I have never really been bullied extensively I have dealt with some intimidating people before (though not really over facebook) and I can tell you it is not very pleasant. It is not overly difficult to fathom someone (for bullying happens to so many people) committing suicide; constant taunting can really make you feel shit.

Committing suicide over this shit is something I will probably never get. Unless you're having the shit kicked out of you everyday and you're tortured weekly infront of the school. But like we've established before, that's probably just my insensitive nature. I'd kill someone else before I ever get to a point where I'd want to kill myself.

You'd be fucking surprised at how little parents/teachers hear when it comes to bullying related incidents and you'd be even more surprised at how they find out. It almost never comes from the victim because the victim is so shit feared about getting a hiding he'd rather take the insults and the odd shove now and then. It always usually comes from someone who's actually had enough seeing what happens and goes to tell someone.

I don't know anything about cyber-bullying but I'm sure not going to turn around and call them all weak shits for getting upset about it.

Trust me it's not, because I go to school, they make a big thing about cyber bullying and it can be anything:

+ Written abuse
+ Threats / death threats
+ sometimes a hundred people against one victim
+ Black mail through pictures if you get what I mean
+ Can lead to physical assault and sometimes sexual assault.

Besides even the mere threat of physical violence can put some people in a very bad mental state. If someone gets a threat on FB from someone they know, they will obviously be scared. Even if nothing happened or ever will.

Know what else I love? The fact that Havoc is taking such a hard nosed prick attitude about this crap, but when ever half the forums jump on his back because he faps to animals and minors, he fucking cries and whines and bitches until one of the god damned admins steps in. He also negreps like hell because he actually DOES take the internet personally and he assumes that rep makes people weep.

Are you kidding me? I'm just going to assume that you've been this repulsive your whole life and as a result, had no friends as a child because if you had, you'd know that shit likes this is the worst idea ever for two reasons. The first:

Parent A calls parent B to bitch about B's kid, and now Parent B feels like their parenting ability is being called into question by a stranger/outsider. Most people will take pretty serious offense to this.

The second reason:

Let's say that Parent B does see the light of day, and realizes they have a shithead for a kid. Fine, great, grounded for two weeks. So now the child B, who already had it in for Child A, is in trouble because of them. Do you think the bullying is going to stop because a fucking CHILD is going to have enough mental clarity to realize that they should blame themselves instead of Child A for their grounding? Because that won't happen. All that's going to happen is Child B's pissy angst will grow, and the bullying will intensify.

I mean, jesus, it's like basic math. How fucking stupid are you?

On the one hand, I can empathise with those affected by bullying, on the other hand, I'd like to slap them and tell them to beat the crap out of whoever is disturbing them.

Yes but for every person who becomes suicidal as a result of bullying there would be hundreds-of-thousands more who don't. And unless you've been in a such a situation I don't expect you to get it.

Humans are social creatures, we live in societies and our lives are based around interactions with other people. We value equity and justice, and compassion and altruism are survival traits.

I don't see why the person would keep the bully in contact with MSN or facebook or whatever. Although I've never really been cyberbullied much, any time that happens I just delete them of my friends list.
Telling any teachers or parents won't help.
Teachers usually say they're going to sort it out but nothing happens and I'm sure there's not much a parent can other than to inform the school which won't do anything.

I've tried the teacher part before so I know what I'm saying.

Trust me it's not that easy, cyberbullying is never one on one just as bullying irl is never one on one, one poor kids has to face up to sometimes twenty other little fuckers. No one here an say 20 - 1 wouldn't make them feel like shit because they'd be lying.

I know a person from my old school who had that. He left though. It was really mean of them to do that. Thank god I don't go to the same school as them.

Thankfully people won't bully me any more, I don't take shit but I used to so I was a target and I know what it's like. That being said I can talk my way out of most situations, the last guy who tried to fight me just ended up looking like a twat and the next day I showed when he asked to fight me he never even turned up, now he avoids me all the time. I'm no hero. XD

I think you got your sentence order wrong. That first sentence is supposed to be at the end.

I don't think you have a right to say anything about a healthy person when you're condoning bullying.

Bullying is pretty counterproductive in our complex social structures, even if at a base instinct level it's survival of the fittest. I'd like to think humanity has developed a brain capacity higher than that, but having experienced bullying first-hand and seen pieces of work like you be an accessory to it I honestly doubt.

well thats the other great thing actually, if you went to the same school as hm then you would probably be in the same rugby team and trust me if they did anything to you the rest of the team would give that guy the bash

Just because you're on the same team as the bully doesn't mean you're automatically safe. The other guys might be friends of the bully or they might just not help. They could just stand and laugh. That's what usually happens at schools (especially if the person's team is full of chavs).
