Like their mechanics, their formation remains a mystery. Some are natural, but the Glukkons have developed artificial wells, first seen in Abe's Exoddus.

Glukkons are LoZeRs! Hey, do glukkons realize that they're evil or do they think that abe and all his friends are evil?

AND

What would happen if a Scrab and a Paramite had babys together? What would it look like?

1) Glukkons think that Abe is a terrorist, those guys live for profit, so they don't realize that they are evil, because they are not evil at their own eyes

2) I don't even want to answer that

well... this is kinda pointless and will probably never happen.

I thought that Shrikkul was part MUD too. Is that true? It says in the AE handbook that He's Half mudokkon, half god, all trouble. I think that shrikkul is cool. My user name was gonna be Shrikkul2188 but I changed my mind.

Some where long ago, I heard that Oddworld's wells were pressurized and a natural part of Oddworld. So my theory was that for some reason (prehaps due to Oddworld's massive size) the there are creators, creveces, whatever in the planet and the Mudokon's took advantage of this by using animal skins to guid the direction you travel and to maximise the pressure by containing it.

This is a pretty dumb question, but are there any native glukkons anywhere?

Native Glukkons? Unlikely, in my opinion, but you never know. It would be interesting to find out at which point they stopped progressing with the rest of their race. If it was before the Age of Alchemy, then they would be Glukkons in their original appearance, which would be very interesting to see.

As for why the Glukkons eyes glow, it's because over thousands of years they have developed an eyesight which is accustomed only to the darkness (although some Glukkons appear to be able to withstand direct sunlight, such as Director Phleg). Exactly why this should actually cause their eyes to give off light I'm not certain. It's definitely more than just light reflecting off their retinas. My guess is that Glukkons (and Rats) have developed the vision-equivalent of radar - their eyes actually give off light, which is then reflected off their environment, allowing them to see. Okay, it doesn't seem likely that that amount of light could illuminate their world enough to actually see, but maybe they actually use some form of electromagnetic radiation that is much more intense, and that the light we see is just the lower or upper part of the spectrum of their adapted sense. Of course that's all speculation.

actually I meant How do sligs control them. If you look at the ending movie of MO you'll see that it has no controls.

This is a stupid question, but why are glukkons' heads so big?

Unknown. In Abe's Oddysee Sligs had tubules connecting their masks and their pants, indicating the masks read the thoughts of the Sligs and sent signals telling the legs to move correspondingly. This is quite impressive, because the Sligs would have to learn to control two limbs they simply didn't evolve with.

The tubules were removed in Abe's Exoddus, presumably as part of the same plan to make Sligs more expressionable. It could be that Sligs control their pants by moving their tails - either this directly controls some mechanical device, or the movement is read by a computer in the pants which controls the legs accordingly.

You're right, it is silly. Glukkons just developed like that, through evolution and the disaster they brought upon themselves in the Age of Alchemy.

Drunk Alls worm that ends well.

I've been gone a week in Hawaii (just in case anyone was wondering) but here's my theory on the "wells".

I think they are the remains of large wormlike creatures, similar to some underwater species on Earth. Perhaps the vacuum has something to do with their method of obtaining and digesting food and when the animal dies, all it leaves is the tube-like shell and the vacuum.
