Jak 1 was great! I loved how it had a Crash Bandicoot feel to it
Jak 3 was okay i guess. the whole Light Jak thing was pretty stupid but the weapons were awesome.

Iloved the crash feel too, it's very nostalgic. and light jak saved my controller, unlike jak 2 which...well, the hoverbike races. you know. but i love jak 3's new enviornments and brilliant end to the trilogy. Despite how it took till jak X for jak and keira to kiss, xP

It was not a brilliant end to the trilogy. It was consistent story-wise, but the gameplay was miles behind its predecessor. The wasteland worked fairly well at best, and everything else was just bad. The city just didn't work in Jak 3. The Krimson-robot zone wasn't any fun and there was no reason to go there unless you were in a mission. The same applies to the Metal Head zone, which you only have to visit twice in missions (or 3 times if you don't complete 2 of the missions sequentially. I always have because I wanted to minimalise my visits to that god-awful place.)

The overpowered weapons completely destroyed the frantic feeling from Jak 2 and replaced it with a one man army feel. It was less fun. The game could have benefited from a complete rethink of balance. It would have fared well from less powerful enemies and weapons, no healing ability and better planed levels.

The temple bits and light Jak puzzles were probably the funnest parts of the game. The rest was fairly bad.

Also, the car physics were laughably bad. Building up speed and going over a huge jump then holding handbreak while landing will render you almost completely motionless.

I agreed to everything Phylum, Jak 3 was rubbish compared to Jak 2 however it was still fun in a way.

Don't get me started on Jak X..I hate that game

Jak X was great fun with friends. It worked well and just felt nice to play. It's best with weapons turned off, though. Also, mute those damn NPC voices.

Is Jak: The Lost Frontier canon or is it a completely another story?

Lost frontier is not canon, as far as I know. I treat it as a spin off, as it was not made by naughty dog themselves. But, we'll see if they do a jak 4.

And I do agree it was less intense than jak 2, but i mainly appreciated the atmosphere and tone of the game, being more like the original in the "heroic adventure" sort of way. I love jak 2, but it clearly was trying too hard to be edgy.

And Jak X is fun with a nice story, but I wish it would effing explain the specs for your parts...

At least the original 3 are amazing. And crash kart was fun, lol. I wish naughty dog could get the rights and at the very least hand it off to ready at dawn, people who actually give a shit about what they work on, unless vivendi gets their collective heads out of their asses. Which wont happen. EVER. Still...I hope for a Jak 4.

Both the Crash and Jak IPs have had numerous games made around them. There's nothing wrong with developing different games.
