I never noticed how freaky slegs looked! That poor handler, I'd never be able to do that, I'd be afraid of getting bitten!
Those are Slogs. It's in the actual game that Slegs are used. Here is just concept art, and I don't think Slegs had been created when that was done.

They're Slogs? They look freaky, are they a different color because they're in another region?

I've got a question: When you go into the program file of Abe's Oddysee and open up the .exe file to Properties, under "Creation date" does everyone's say October 22, 1997, or is it different for everyone?

Something like that. Mine says:

Created: 10 February 2006, 19:25:51 (which was when I installed it)
Modified: 22 October 1997, 14:33:22

Interesting! So would that be the exact time the EXE file was edited? Is the time different for people in different time zones?

No, it’s because not much detail is being put into them. That colour study is to capture the spirit and shape of the Wolvark Handler. The Slogs just help to elucidate his posture.

Mm, that's what I thought. Yeah, the time seems to be a bit different, mine is 18:33:22...looks like your copy was created exactly four hours earlier

This means, though, that 22 October is exactly AO's birthday...10 years, coming up...yipee!

More likely that's just to do with the way that WinXP occassionally decides to change the times and dates because of time zones. Have you moved since you installed the game?

Ten years since the PC EXE file went gold, but not ten years of Abe’s Oddysee. The PlayStation version was released earlier, in September.

Very good question! I think it’s one company, or rather a facility belonging to one company: Vykkers Pharmaceuticals. Off the top of my head, I don’t remember any technology being developed in VL, except Munch having the SkullJack installed, but that’s the personal work of Humphrey.

Then again, there are Labour Eggs and Gabbiar being auctioned. Maybe Vykkers Fine Foods Division and Slave Aid are renting or otherwise borrowing VL’s auction hall.

All I’m certain of is that the divisions of the Vykkers Conglomerate are not fully understood.

Are you sure you want to do this? I'm just making sure because you might not like Oddworld when you're older, and it's painful to have a tatoo removed... But if you're really dedicated, I'm sure you'd be able to find what you want on the Oddworld Library! The link can be found on Max's sig.

I was hoping, when older, to get the Shrykull (Scrab and paramite) marks put on my hands.
That would be so awesome
I'm certain I saw a really good Sekto Springs logo somewhere....just don't know where.
I did see it though, so it's out there somewhere.

I'd love to get a Necrum symbol on my back, if I don't like Oddworld in later years (Basically impossible) It would still be a nice tatoo all the same.

But which do you get? The AO originals, or the Necrum Vaults ones as seen in MO?

I hereby declare it the Oddworld dilemma of 2007. This can only be topped by official and controversial news releases.

I say do it, but not with the Sekto Springs logo... I would go for a big fat Oddworld Inhabitants logo, or one of Abe's many marks.

Well i could easly sharpen the image up. and yes i'm aware tattoo's don't come off. i already have a few. and as for getting the markings......,meh i never really liked the treehuggers :P....much more of a industrialist fan. so it' be something like vykkers labs. or M.o.M or as i say sekto springs logo :P i just like that lil squid thing.. it'l be on my upper arm.

Also zerox?. DO NOT get it on your hands. you will be hastled every single day with people either asking what it's from or what it means. and it's a tad unsightly in your older years. if anything i'd get it on your back or upper arm. hands hurt alot more too i heard.

For originality's sake: get the Stunkz logo tattooed into your armpit.

Though some of the outlaws also have good tattoos. Castaraider, for instance, the fish skeleton on his arm.

The Grubbs' rock art is good, too.

Yeah, M.O.M. would be a good one, cause if you ever do grow out of Oddworld, you can still have a laugh.

The AO originals.

@Psyke: I doubt too many people would ask what they are, and I'd just tell them I can't be bothered, or just say "It's from a videogame" and be done with it.
Would feet hurt more? My mom got one on her foot, not of Oddworld or anything mind, but feet ARE pretty sensetive to pain.
They'd only look unsightly when I'm 60 odd, and the price for emoving tattoos (or soemthing) would have gone down quite a bit over such a time period.

Most of them died aboard Vykker's Labs, but I'm sure there are plenty more still in existance. This belongs in the Oddworld Questions and Answers thread.

You see the doc in SW, he's a Vykker! So there must be another source of Vykkers somewhere... Vykker's labs is some sort of huge facility that ALL Vykkers go to, and then I bet there are these little places where they work or live.

The lab we saw destroyed in MO was Vykkers Labs 13 - the first to be built in a floating vessel. That means there are/were at least 12 other labs around Mudos. What's more, not all of the Vykkers are associated with the Vykkers Conglomerate - Doc, for example. Thus there still are plenty of Vykkers around.

Define proper.

In case you haven't noticed, none of the characters in Oddworld really wear clothes that would be found "normal" by our own society. By making their clothes look differently than our own, OWI made that world seem all the more alien, to reflect the general oddness of the creatures that wear them.
