That's impressive. I gave up on sparing every other slig as early as the Sorrow Valley. In the Barracks lift segment I just loaded the cannon with explosive coke and killed all the sligs. To make things easier I left the muds behind and made the first ride alone. Slig deaths do not count in the quarma and do not change the ending anyway.

Yeah, in my first playthrough I gave up pretty early too. I think there might be an achievement for killing less than 100 Sligs, but it's a shame that it doesn't have any other impact. I partially agree with what Varrock said earlier in the thread about wanting to avoid all Slig deaths it just for fun, but it would have been nice if it was reflected in the story somehow. If I'm remembering correctly, the Slig pilot with Molluck comments a couple times about Sligs being killed - would have been neat if the dialogue changed depending on how many you kept alive, or just a small addition in the ending. Oh well though.
