A friend ordered the hardcover for me (she knew I only got the limited edition and gave me the hard cover version so I should have to wait, isn't she wonderfull )

This book is a piece of art in itself! You can feel the magic, the dedication and the love while reading it!

I took 4h30 to go trough the book the first time I read it, and even now I often open it and focus on a specific image or theme.

This is absolutly a must have for every oddworld fan, it contains excellent info about how the characters were created, how the plots were fixed, and how the subtext emmerged. You can understand while reading this book how important the feeling of one culture is.

You can read a part about the importance of the oddworld music!!!

And now the Art! Tons and tons of pictures even I never saw:
Lots of sketches that make you see how the creatures were created and where they came from, each single sketch is a piece of art, a story in itself!
A huge amount of paintings: wonderfull and pure art, makes me want to have each item in poster side to put in my room! All those images gives you the mood and the sensation to understand even more of the Oddworld cultures, parts you'ld never have suspected!
Several Screenshots and CG captures: to show the final result

There also many many informations about creatures (seen and unseen)

If you want art, If you like CG, or If you like both (Oddworld): Buy it!

I'm hanging on for my hardcover copy. It was delivered, but there was no one at home, so they took it back to the Delivery Office. Grrrness.

It...is...beatiful...I'm sorry I getting all teary eyed just looking at the my limited edition on the internet and staring at the hardcover version I have in my hand. Anyone with a second mind to buy this book I got to tell you something...go get it. Plus I got a major spolier that I am having to think if I should tell. It is the name of the land where all the Stranger business is going on. If you watch your Stranger's Wrath trailer listen to the the disimbodied people that sound like ghosts in the background, they say the name twice. I am hoping that is a big enough clue for you all

Bah. This makes me want to go an order the Soft Cover just so I don't have to open the Limited Edition when it arrives. Can someone give us a transcript of the Slig Corps information? Sounds interesting.

I paid a good deal of money on the Limited Edition, so I'm opening it...since I could only afford to get one book. I couldn't get all three editions as I would've liked. But...to make sure the Limited Edition stays beautiful, I'll probably get one of those "safe-boxes" to keep my book in a germ-free environment.

I got my hardback copy! It's so fantastic to read, and even more spectacular to look at! There's information on the creation of the games and universe, information on the creatures and characters nobody could have known before, and not forgeting the art! The art! Beautiful colour studies, twisted conceptual sketches, unseen creatures, buildings and vehicles - it's an Oddworld fan's dream. You absolutely have to have this book.

*cries with you* Can you believe that out of all the credit cards that are accepted at Ballistic, Discover isn't? So that I can actually receive the book sometime, my family and I had to go through with a credit card transfer (we are getting a Visa now) and who knows when I'll get the book now! Maybe I'll get it before March

There's nothing on Mugs, though there are a couple of pictures of Meetles - in their 1%er design. The description of Luskans also mentions them as if they're sentient species, rather than their more lowly beetle-like design. Hmmm.

No, the description of Luskans differentiates them from Mugs as even Mugs will work together for the betterment of the species while Lusks are too distrustful even for that.

:
Q: What is the story or meaning behind the two little fetuses in the OW logo? -Xavier

Alf: The twin fetuses have long since been absorbed into Oddworld lore. The caliper and test-tube motif for the Oddworld logo was created for a brochure for the 1999 E3 convention. At the time, we were working on two games simultaneously; Munch's Oddysee and Hand of Odd. As time went on and the gears of corporate commerce kept turning, Hand of Odd faded away and Munch's Oddysee became the sole focus of production. In the end, Oddworld gave birth to a kicking and screaming Munch's Oddysee only. This is the history of the twin fetuses.
[this sentence is here to make my post long enough]
