I like it when they get newscasters and public personalities talking nonsense on TV.

That's precisely why I like him too. He has this optimistic, weird, child-like quality to him. But he can also be pretty bad-ass (I LOVE his speech at Stonehenge). Tennant got too mopey and..."emo" at the end. I mean, did he REALLY have to be so whiny about his regeneration? Especially considering how jarring it was in the end. It was like...
My issue with Tennant towards the end wasn't the mopeyness, it was the fact that they'd Flanderised the character to a series of tics and a pile of shouty heroics.

Dear god. Why the hell did they get Richard Dawkins talking about astronomy?

My mom kept telling me how I must absolutely watch Dr Who, and how it's just what I'd like... So I guess... Where does one start just to get a whiff of it? ... not sure I'll watch it though x_x have so many other things I'd rather watch.

There's the whole of Earth and the whole of human history, to name just one planet alone. In the new series I think he's only ever gone to space in the past once (not including any NASA bits from the last sixty years). And that was to see the Earth's accretion disk.
There was that time they had WW2 fighter planes taking down a Dalek spaceship.

I love the cybermen in particular, I've watched most of the cybermen episodes right back from the Tenth Planet. Tomb of the Cybermen is one of my favourite episodes ever just for their voices alone. Thing is, the Cybus cybermen are getting tiring and they're like the Universe's whipping boys. They need a reboot, a redesign and a much darker storyline (i.e. numbers always depleting, must survive through any means necessary).

How did you see the Tenth Planet? It's been lost for years.

Ahaa, that's what you think, some old bloke had some of the original film reels which he uploaded on to Youtube, it's not all of it but it's a good proportion.

Yeah, I knew there were a couple of clips of it, but only a few minutes, right?

I think I must have watched a little under an hour of footage, give or take a good few minutes.

All caught up for the next half of season 7.
I'm really itching to go back and watch the first Doctor, too. Its too bad the videos are in such poor quality, but its also better than not having them.

With the Doctors; Eleven is my first choice, then it'd prolly have to be Ten, then Four. I've been meaning to look his episodes up.

@OddYuoko
Ah, well ma'am, if you have SciFi channel you may be pleased to know that they're showing the older episodes currently, going through the Third Doctor serials at the moment. It's making me find Jon Pertwee all the more entertaining. "You, sir, are a nitwit" has become one of my favourite DW quote now. XD
Otherwise, also looking forward to the rest of season 7, looks very promising indeed. I have a disctinct hunch that the alleged end of the world in 2012 thing may become a plot point in the Christmas special, would be rather interesting to see.
And Lords of Time is apparently going to be in Australia too. Wow, we get PAX and a Who Con, loving the lineup for 2013, Australia doesn't always miss out afterall.

It's also a Doctor Who convention, with Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann there celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who, along with other guests differing depending on the location. In Melbourne, we also get the voice of K-9 and the actor who played the 2nd Doctor's companion Jamie.
In short, it promises to be awesome. And yes, there will be much cosplay and photo taking. ^^

Well, it is for the 50th anniversary, so I'm sure that Europe will get some form of DW convention up there too.
