I think allowing slightly larger filesizes would help alleviate some of the problems that users get when trying to upload something. (Sometimes you'll be just over the limit and it can be furiating to be that close but not be able to upload it). I agree though, no animated gifs please! My PC can't handle it!
That was easy. I wonder what else we could get if we all rallied together.
Rallying is not important. Convincing someone who's actually gonna do something about it (i.e. me) that it needs doing is far more useful. And I didn't need much convincing, given that I was already of the view that 15kb was too small.

Well so long as they're small (8KB for mine) and they don't oblitorate your eyeballs then they're not so bad are they?
Plus, small animations shouldn't take long to load at all. It will only take a while if you're viewing them on DSi Browser/Opera Mini (for brick phones) or if you've got a really bad dial-up connection.
IE will skip them also.
