These are all fair points! But even if Abe was accustomed to cruelty and consumerism, there would be nothing to suggest he didn't have enough sense to realise that the extinction of a race was a bad thing! He might have overheard glukkons talking about the 'last meech' in the same way he overhears the mudokon pops board meeting.
Whether his motives at the time would be in line with Abe's personalty as we know him now is unclear. Perhaps Abe's eyes were just naturally a little more open to morality than the others? It is clear from the games so far that most Industrialised Mudokons are complacent and passive. Considering his spiritual significance and destiny, I think it's more than plausible that Abe always had some form of altruism, despite his upbringing, able to understand concepts greater than what he was taught.
If Abe did hoard a meech somehow, if it was for the greater good of saving a species I think we can forgive the 'cruelty' of his actions!
Admiral Zaarin, bear in mind that Abe also 'thought he had a good job' when he was witnessing his fellow muds being beaten all the time, and no doubt being beaten himself! Perhaps he was speaking in terms of floor waxing being better than scrubbing meat grinders. It's definitely safer
