My high school didn't have a graduation ceremony. Too many students to have all their parents in the hall and call them up on stage one by one.

My university apparently did have mortarboards, but I was overseas when the ceremony was happening and didn't bother rescheduling for a later one. I clearly didn't know at the time about the sheer wonder of the headwear.

I see this with my mom's dogs. Scruffy was low-man in the pack. Everyone pushed him around and beat him up as dogs will do.

Then my dog came to live at my moms, and because she is sweet and good natured, he can now beat up on her if he so desires.
