Right now every time I try to upload the dream, my furcadia crashes. I have no idea why.

Was it working at some time prior?

Did you change any of the dream files? This is really strange... Does it actually crash, or does it freeze? Typically, when you hit the upload button, it'll lag severely and seem to freeze for about 30 seconds or so ('stops responding'), and then the uploading process will begin. Is that what's happening?

I haven't edited any files as far as I'm aware; I did have a poke around but I don't know that I changed anything. It did upload a couple of times last weekend.
I start uploading the dream, it goes through the motions, gets as far as registering something and then I get an alert box saying 'Furcadia has stopped working; Windows is checking for a solution' and it closes.

I Have checked the first post offline/online detector for three days, every hour and it is never online. Could you please put it up someday :s It seems to be really cool and i like this kind of thing, i think Oddworld Inhabitants should continue making Hand Of Odd and publish it since it seems to be like this, and this is my thing =)).

For the foreseeable future, this probably won't be running for the following two reasons:

1. Technical.
Since Ajiellyn became extremely busy in RL a couple of years ago, she's simply not had time to visit the forums, let alone maintain the dream. Furcadia dreams have to be in use every hour of every day or Furcadia removes them.
I took over hosting it for a while but for some reason after a depressingly short period of time, my laptop started refusing to upload it.
So there's no one with the time or dedication to keep it online.

2. Interest.
I uploaded it consistently for several days, in which absolutely no one came on, despite my advertising it here. It was draining my laptop's performance for absolutely no point.
It's next to no fun at all without four or five people online, and the people who made it great back in the day have lost interest in this and in some cases in the forums as a whole (). There really aren't enough people interested in using it to make it fun for anyone who does want to use it.

Just so you're aware, I had another go at uploading this this evening, but it failed once again. Crashpunk, my last post pretty much explains why the Dream is unavailable.

It's sad that it's not been working out. I'm sure quite a lot of people would be on it, were it not for all the barriers to entry (having to open furcadia, waiting ages in an empty room, not being able to deal with time differences).

Might sound a little dumb, but is there any sort of private server for Furcadia that will make uploading and maintaining a dream easier?

Essentially it is a private server. The dream is not being hosted by Furcadia but by Splat and Ajiellyn.

I went to go play this the other day, but the server was down. I'm quite sad I missed out on this. It sounds pretty cool.

Man, i found this thread and started reading through it thinking "Oh damn an oddworld online game, how did i never see this before?" Only to get to the last page and hear that the funs over and everybodys allready packed up and left.

But from the pictures i can tell that it look good and alot of hard work went into it, so i take my hat off to that.

hey splat i can host the dream i can be trusted i will keep it on 24/7 i do have the time please send me a link to the dream files and i promise ill do my best to get it back up i have hosted alot of private servers off games before and have gone upto atlease 23/6 but im sure i can do another day please its for the best !
