Seeing as we are the only creatures on this planet alive who are logically able to separate right from wrong and openly declare it (as far as we know) then I believe that the "rights" and "wrongs" of this world that we have set down are correct for our species.

It is terrible what happened to your family, Dr., and I understand why you might have looked to your dog as a companion in such a time of need, but I think the general thought of others around you in the forum is why couldn't it be another human?

In the big picture then I suppose I can't truly argue with you because it has not ever happened to me and I hope it doesn't, but until it has happened to anyone else their thoughts on the matter can only remain an opinion and not a true fact, no matter how much evidence they have.
