But wouldn't that mean that they would have to adapt AO and AE onto current generations of consoles? Or do you suppose that they go on things like the PSP or the DS? And maybe the PC?

Well they would have no proplem updating it for the PC - just a little bit of debugging. PS3 would be a bit more tough but certainly doable.

I read a FAQ Similar to that, but it was the AO and AE for the Xbox I think. They said something about they could do it, but they would have to like redo everything.

It seems rather unlikely they'd choose a large console, since picking 'the wrong one' could affect sales alot, and the controller choice may affect as well. I was thinking they could remake it for the virtual console, but there mgiht not be nearly enough buttons on the controller. Maybe with a custom controller, but who really knows?

is there any cool references to the abe games in stranger? i know the town doc´s a vykker, but other than that? i would love to see a scrab carved in a rock or something, after all. mongo valley lies in mudos, north of where the abe games took place.

I would like to know as well. Some things look kinda similar, but not the same. You think you would see a Scrab or something somewhere. Maybe out in a Forest or something... Strangers Wrath seems to take place in the future of AE though. They just look a little more 'Civilized'.

I was disappointed that Abe's Moon wasn't visible in the sky... I can olny assume the game took part while it was on the other side the Oddworld, or during its "new moon" phase.

You don't need night to see the moon. Also, the game starts with high noon, moves on to the afternoon, there's the night scene after the de-pantsing, a sleep, then it's morning. You get through a couple of days.

Happy

Well, you play at night when you first play as a revealed Steef, until you fall asleep.

Strangers Wrath seems to take place in the future of AE though.
Max says it is at the same time, or after Munch's Oddysee.

i was wondering why the days were so long in strangers wrath, then i realized oddworld is 10 times bigger than earth, so there i got my "logic answer". question is, how many suns has oddworld got? it has lots of moons, you can see that in stockard escape.

Oddworld can be 10 times bigger, but that may not necessarily effect the day/time ratio... Cause, it depends on how fast Oddworld Rotates, Odd Years would be a full resolution around the Dominate Star. Whichever star that Oddworld Rotates around...Right?

Oh I have a question:

Is the Oddworld Game Developers still out there? Thinking of new games? Or is it unlikely to see any new Oddworld games at all?

Oddworld Inhabitants is no longer a game development company; it is now an intellectual property company. That means they retain full creative control of the Oddworld universe (as well as others), and lisence their characters and stories to other developers to make films, video games, television programming: anything they want. Right now they’re trying to put this new business model into practice by partnering with Vanguard Animation to produce the (non‐Oddworld) film, Citizen Siege. Hopefully a similar situation will result in the first Oddworld film being developed.

And maybe finally OWI will make a game that is for the PC! Heh, at last, my dream as come true!

On the other hand, I have a question. Nate_dog_woof told me of some dairies of some guy, that contained a great deal of the orginal concept of Oddworld. He also claimed it was down. Now where can I find these dairies?

thing is, will oddworld remain its spirit when it becomes a "character based entertainment company" like..say marvel comics?

i sense that oddworld inhabitants is on their way to becoming sellouts.

a cool artist/company that in order to sell more stuff, tries to please the masses, and thereby looses it´s soul.

and in what did Oddworld lost it's soul?
they decided to move out of the game industry so they don't have to compromise Lorne's vision because of the game medium anymore

so, they try to keep the soul more then everything

A movie of Oddworld does seem a little weird. I'd rather just play games... But then again, if you think about it more and more, you kind of grow into it.

Those are the designer diaries of (mostly) Paul O’Connor. They were on GameSpot (né Videogames.com) and PlayNOW, but they’re practically all unavailable now. They were in The Oddworld Archives, and they’ll be available again when The Oddworld Scriptures becomes available.

Strangers Wrath: Slogs. And there is a Gloktigi height chart comparing it with a Glukkon in the Art of Oddworld book.
How can a planet have more than one sun, it wouldn't orbit properly. Plus stars being that close together is rather odd.
We can presume Oddworld has at least 3 moons, the Abe's hand one, The Gabbit foot one, and the blank one seen in Stranger.
During this movie discussion, Marvel Comics was mentioned...an official Oddworld comic could be pretty cool. Unlikely, but still possible, I reckon...
