Looks good...How many polygons does it have? I'm only asking because paramonia one path has been a bitch for poly count.
atm, it has 74 faces, as it is in the image i posted. So, if i was to finish the cloth, it would have around 120 faces, roughly.. Just for the cloth.. How many faces do you recomend? I shall try and reduce the face count anyway, BUT, how many face would you have originally recommended for the cloth piece?

here is a frame of my old vesion of the sign (this one is not going to be used now as it was crapply done lol, did even have UVs, thats why none of h texture follows the durve of the object). it has a total of 1567 tris and the cloth itself has 64 tris but to be honest hasnt been shapped right. so i'd say your poly count is pretty good.

since I already have a UV?texture already done for the wooden poles, you wont need to make them, I'll build up the frame for the sign then you can fit the cloth in to fit?

Hey sorry to but in however there is something I need to bring to your attention about copyright Nowtun,

You see OWI states very little as far as I can see about copying Abe's Odysee, in the PS1 game pamphlet at the back it simply says that copies should not be made but, what I think is a revision comes out in Abe's Exoddus, basically it talks about editors and the sort allowing for modification so long as there is no monetary profit made from the new altered version. I feel that the remake that you have constructed is perfectly legal but in the title screen, you must write the following:

THIS GAME IS IN NO WAY ENDORSED BY EITHER GT INTERACTIVE OR ODDWORLD INHABITANTS, THIS GAME MAY NOT BE SOLD NOR MAY COPIES BE MADE FROM YOUR OWN. FOR MORE INFORMATION, THE CREATORS EMAIL IS AS FOLLOWS: insertemail@here.co.uk

Nowtun, how large can the texture resolution be for the model you sent me? I currently have it at 1024x1024 by default, but the bigger the better.. so.. how big?

well the texture Ive been using so far have been 512x512 (Small I know) by default, but for Abe the texture should be bigger (or any other character for that) so maybe no bigger than 2048x2048?

Not yet sorry I am currently looking for a new programmer. But I am continuing with modling the rest of the game which should make it quicker when I finally find a programmer.

the models used in the vid are old versions, even though rupturefarms is essentially the same, the walls are now wider. Abe is now totaly different to the one used in the demo as you may have seen in some of the latest vids that featured Abe

this is just to reassure some of you that this is not just another pipe dream... this will be completed... even if it takes some time

Dont be too impressed by it I just put the texture from the book on his front if I turned him around it would be on his back too.

I did it in lightwave and then changed the UV (shrunk or expanded it) which doesn't effect the model.

Hows your texture going?

lol I know, his kilt/skirt/thing was on a seperate layer and the scene didnt load it, it wasnt textured anyway but it'll be fine in the final Abe dont worry

The texture.. haven't really started yet. I've just been messing about with it, trying to get my head around with how to texture .. ya know, the basic stuff :P.. and I started painting the lips, and realised I would probably have to get better at painting :S.. so then I started searching for text on colour theories and ended up reading about how you get green if you mix blue and yellow, brown if you mix a primary colour and it's complimentary secondary colour, all of which I already know ;(...

And then tonight I saw that 'rough' Abe you'd textured, and just thought I'd texture that scanned image instead of trying to paint the whole thing myself, coz it would just suck badly!.. so, I plan to attempt to texture Abe using that scanned image tomorrow, so I hope it goes ok .. :S

Cool sounds like a plan...just need to remove the tattoo and his skirt, hair and eyes are not on the scan so you might need to do those.

Do you want me to have a go at doing the UV for you????

ermm, shall I have a go first? One of the problems I know I'll encounter is, you know the scanned textures.. I don't know how to map them onto the model and have them blur together at the seams.. do you know what I mean?

yeah have a go....I think that the scan pictures may already be blurred but I was thinking I was gonna have the same problem....was gonna try to use GIMP.

Nowtun, it's turning out ok .. I've arranged the bodyparts from the scan into a compact image. I'm UV'ing over the image, so this is gonna take some time... I've started on his face, so when I get up tomorrow, I'll finish the face and head, and take some pics to show you how it looks
