Most people don't realise that they're only jumping on the bandwagon to make themselves feel good.
Also, I really think anti-bandwagon bandwagons are much worse than the very thing they are criticizing. At least one of those had a good message somewhere in there, even if it has been lost in a shameless pit of self gratification.

Whilst I agree with what both of you say, I don't think it's totally useless. Almost totally useless, yes. But this sort of thing does have the potential to introduce the issue to people who haven't thought about it, or to make homophobes aware that their views would be considered unacceptable to their peers.
But that's not good enough reason to justify some of the backslapping and pride I saw yesterday.
