Exclamation A new creature in MO

I noticed that in MO on the levels Paramite Run and Brewery to be (I think it was those levels)there was a bunch of huge bones there. None of the creatures that I could think of looked like they had bones like that. Does anyone know what creature this was?

Actually the Brewery to be and the bones where in the Scrab run level. I did manage to take the time and examine this skeleton and I must admit it look very familiar to the one I saw in a Production sketch of AO. Im sure Xaiver can find it, its got a blue backgournd with some light streaming through and Abe in the forground walking tworard it.

However it dose look like a fairly small specimen compared to the one in the Production sketch, which leads me to belive that it was eaten alive at a very young age.

I seen that skeleton as well however i have no clue of what it is and if Oddsville is correct about the dead carcass being a younger specimen then an adult must be huge.

I took time to look at that creature last time I played through MO. I noticed that its skull was quite small and at the end of a long and thin neck.
The picture Xavier posted has a larger skull which seems to be placed on its torsoe.

Here are my thoughts on the skeleton:
At first, I thought it was a dead Sea Rex (a long neck at the end of a larger torsoe being typical of large sea dinosaurs). But what about the two large bones joined at a ball/socket? This would suggest that the animal had legs. A long neck is common in herbivorous dinosaurs. This means that it's probably a land-dwelling herbivore that eats primerily from tall trees (common in the external levels in MO).
All I have to do now is get its skull and put clay on it and we'll have an archaelogical documentary!

it can be a SeaRex...
they have some palmed "legs" like some aquatic dinosoars
I think I saw a video with SeaRexes somewhere, but I can't remember where

The bloody skeletons in MO have a razor-toothed jaws, ribs and what looks like two hind legs. What creature do we know of which fits this description? Slogs. But the skeleton looks to big to be a slog.

Is it a sea rex? Well the name SEA rex implies that they live in the sea. That skeleton was a fresh kill and it wasn't near the sea. Not a sea rex either.

So what is it? Some creature native to oddworld that we have not seen yet and probably never will. I don't think that OWI had a specific creature in mind. They just put it there to make the local wildlife (paramites right?) seem more dangerous.

Yea I know what you mean. I wrote a topic on this a while back it does look sort of like a Sea Rex. You know look at the map of Mudos and find the travels of Abe and Munch. Maybe they traveled through dried up river beds. Who knows.

Do you suppose a Sea Rex would spawn up rivers similar to what salmon do?

From what we hear, they eat gabbits. They'd have to be pretty big to eat gabbits. From the name, 'Sea Rex', we can determine that Oddworld Inhabitants wanted to emphasise something. What animal does 'Sea Rex' sound like? 'T. Rex'. This leads one to belive that a Sea Rex is a large aquatic animal.

In answer to your question, not likely.

Edit: Why would something called 'Sea' be in a river? Especially since it was named by an omniscient Oddworld Inhabitant.

Maybe the places in MO were once the bottom of an ancient sea floor. It's possible Maybe that area on Mudos was part of the Oddworld sea at one time in history but over time the sea resided and exposed the cliffs and mountains and just so happens a Sea rex died there and became a fossel. What if the blood is not of the Sea Rex but of the Paramites or something else like prey for the Paramites that just so happened to be in the area? Who knows but it's interesting.

So if a Sea Rex is not likely to be found up rivers and is pronouned to eat Gabbits is it possible that they could have been cought in the nets and that (if that is a Sea Rex in the scrab herd area or whatever that level is called). The skeloton could be that of a Sea Rex thrown in there to feed the Scrabs?

perhaps they use the wild scrabs to provide security to further protect the Glukkon. Maybe also to make sure scrubs dont escaped. Im not sure its just a thought.

I hope for a large creature in Oddworld, all the others look so, small. It would be so cool to be chased by one of those beasts!

1: you probobly wouldent be chased by one because of its size and it is a herbivore.

2: if it was a sea rex from the result of a dried up river bed, that would have taken a while for the river bed to dry up, the sea rex die, and the scrabs discovering it and eating it. the one in the game is fresh. unless sea rexes can survive on land for long periods of time and the scrabs arrived to kill it just before munch and abe showed up.

3: in xaviers pic, the skeleton has a beak like a bird and the walls have a water line which indicates that the water used to be higher, but dried up. so it could be a rok that drowned!

yes on that third one sligster i mentioned the animal in the pic having a beak. And about the scrab thing dont you think my theory could be possible coudnt the industrials have caught a sea rex in the nets pressuming thats what it is an could they have fed it to the scrabs because they mite having been using the wild scrabs for unvolentery protection.?

The scrab protection is a good idea if you think back to when Abe escaped from Rupture Farms i seem to remember a couple of scrabs trying to stop him.

Thank you very much Odd Skater. Ok everyone think back to AO when you try to escape rupture farms remeber the Scrabs there. It is obvious that the industrials were using them in un vollintary security. This is exactly what i was saying about the scrabs in MO i said that the creature could have been a Sea Rex caught in the nets and brought by the industrialist to feed the herd of scrabs who were unvollintarily providing security to the Micro brewery.(i think thats were it was) so now does my theory make sense.?
they feed the scrabs to keep them healthy *even scrabs gata eat you know.*

Kaimana, your theory makes a lot of sense. In fact, it is so obvious that I wonder why nobody thought of it before. Of course the scrabs need to eat and since they can't hunt the owners of the scrab ranch would have to supply food. We have needed a person like you for a long time. Someone with lots of good ideas. We have way to many spammers.

I don't think its a fresh kill, sorry. Part of its bones are buried in the ground. I think its been there a while. The neck area does look like the Sea Rex avatar pick, looks somewhat like the Loch Ness Monster or something. The place is a big ditch though, I may have used to be part of a large river or larger lake, so it could still be a Sea Rex as far as I know. Who knows what industrialists have done to the landscape.
