Last night I found a guy staggering around with a deep gash to the head. Not immediately life-threatening, but dangerous. I called him an ambulance, waited with him until it arrived in case he passed out, and kept talking to him to try and keep tabs on his condition. I didn't get home until 7am as a result. I do not consider myself heroic. Heck, I only even bothered to mention it to one person. If it's what you'd want, it's what you should do.
