It's still in development, but CANDLE is a game that was consciously inspired by the Oddworld games.

They're not really all that similar to Oddworld, but Beyond Good and Evil and Psychonauts have a similar feel IMO, mostly in terms of tone.

Nosferatu for the Super Nintendo had gameplay mechanics similar to Oddworld.

I meant to show off that the game has ledge grabbing, hopping over gaps and switches just like in the Abe games.

But both games remind me of the Abe games. Just because of the ledge grabbing. This thread is called Games Similar to Oddworld. which they both are in terms of certain mechanics.
