Thank you very much, guys and girls!

I'm usually pretty good with my lore but this was the first time I'd read about Squeek having a repossesed body, despite having read the wiki entry a couple months back.
|
I'm not really sure when this became an idea for Squeek, but he mentions it in
this interview. I don't think that design would be a smart choice if they do attempt Citizen Siege or Wage Wars again, as that's where I understand the "robotic life support suit" idea originated. (Pictured below). Another case of Lorne's game ideas trickling down into other oddworld games.
:
Something about the decapitated dog head doesn't sit right with me - and for the purpose of concepts it's always a good idea to draw varying designs rather than settle on the first one you come up with.

Maybe the separated dog head is too grim for the average player. I'm with you on varying my designs! I do tend to get wrapped up in thinking of how the game would play out once I start drawing concepts, basing some of the gameplay mechanics on the character's appearance, which kind of paints me into a corner.
:
While I appreciate the canonical integrity on your concepts for Squeek, it would be interesting to see you go in a different direction in further concepts.

It's funny you bring that up. I have a bunch of drawings in a sketchbook that began as Squeek concepts, and eventually turned into something non-oddworld related. I tend to have that problem too
I'm gonna finish a couple works in progress and post them whenever I'm done, so forgive any multi-posts!
