Thanks. Today was weird. Most people forgot it was my birthday, even though I made a point of mentioning it throughout the week. A few people made the effort to wish me a happy day, which I really appreciated. Lots of people also didn't even say anything when I told them it was my birthday. I'm still a bit baffled as to why only 15 people bothered to post on my Facebook wall. There are two people I'm really disappointed didn't make the effort, especially seeing that neither of them said anything in person even after I reminded them it was my birthday. They are two of my closest friends right now.

Tonight I went to see Van Dyke Parks live. It was the best thing ever. He is amazing. If I could be half the musician he is I would die happy. The only downer on the whole event was that no one would go with me, so I went with my parents.

Either way, here's me with the man of the hour.



And I bought a CD so that he could sign it.



I have just seen something completely unique and all of my friends should feel bad for missing one of the best musical shows they could ever see.

e: I forgot to mention that it's good to know I'll always have a birthday message here. I've been waiting to read this all day and I only just got the chance now at 11:30pm. I love you guys.

Meh, their fucking loss, mate. I'd have gone at the drop of a hat. I'm not familiar with the musician you went to see but I love how he signed your CD, going out of your way to do something like that just shows commitment to the fans. Glad you're still rocking the beard too by the way.

He finished with this song, which is absolutely brilliant. He sat there and played it solo voice with piano white the orchestra just awkwardly sat behind him.



Also, I didn't mention that the concert heavily featured Kimbra and Daniel Johns (of Silverchair). They were fantastic and really added a whole new dimension of awesome to the event.

It's the 17th anniversary of the start of Tom's LIFE, so I'm utilising this web DOMAIN to wish many more happy years to his KINGDOM. I believe some celebrations are in ORDER here, even though birthdays are a time for FAMILY. Personally I think this thread is a GENUS idea, but keep the SPECIES short, okay?
