I keep meaning to play a horror game. I've never fully gotten into stuff like Silent Hill or Resident Evil but it really intrigues me. Might have a bash at that SCP and Amnesia. Might need to buy myself some new underwear cause i'm a pussy...

I'm a huge pussy. I've played Amnesia once. I found someone to hold my hand and go through it with me, but that fell through.

But seriously, playing through it with a girl would be much more fun than being scared alone. It would naturally make me man up and stop freaking out, too.

What was great about Amnesia was that the scares never got old, because they were constantly changing. The torture rooms near the end of the game were pretty disturbing.

And as everyone points out, all the more horrifying for being real, once-commonly used methods of torture.

Also, the contrast. We all remember the rear hall, with the fountain. You get there after the final run through the water, and the contrast in light and colour, the sheer relief you feel, is overwhelming. Which puts Frictional in an even better position to pull the rug out from under your feet when it gets Shadow'd.

I haven't played Slender, but my sister has, and I watched her. I personally was getting freaked out, even though I never actually saw the guy.

Amnesia on the other hand outright scares me. I can play for about 5-20 minutes at a time before completely losing all my courage and exiting, regardless of what area I am at. I'd say it's the better.

Mind you it is somewhat more funded than Slender is. Still, Slender has some interesting merits, in that it shows you don't need too much to scare or at least feel scared.

Yeah that's the "proper" version of the game to which the free version was a prelude. I may give that one a shot. If it's just the same game with better graphics, however, I'm gonna call bullshit.

Considering these games are based on the Marble Hornets canon, there will probably be an inclusion of Masky and the other guy, whose name I don't remember.

Actually, they are keeping the Marble Hornets characters completely separate. This is the same Slender Man i.e. The Operator, but the other characters aren't present at all. The idea is just that they aren't the only people that he terrorizes.
