I would love to see some footage of someone playing this one. I already laughed at the cleverness and foolishness Dark went trough playing my first map.
No footage from me, I'm afraid, but I did try both of those maps. Quickstep was good, I liked the liberty you left to the player in solving it, after completing it, I was surprised how different Edd's approach was to it. I managed to launch myself up to the button in the middle by getting to the platform with the laser and putting two portals at the right places on the floor, going around the whole lightbridge concept.

Chamberception #1 is still waiting for me to finish it. I may have managed to smuggle some blue gel into the room with the orange gel, I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be done, but eventually it got in the way. That is, it bounced me into the acid pit. I shall make another attempt when I get home from work.

Also I managed to solve some of the "unsolveable" chambers that people made, mainly these 2:

"IMPOSSIBRU MAP" and "Friendzone". Note that I still think they should make it so you have to solve a chamber once to even publish a map.
How is Friendzone unsolvable? I just went trough it after he fixed a door problem and got trough it without a hitch.

Edit: Nevermind, different map, same name.

I managed to save 6 seconds (and use less portals) by not messing up as much:



I don't think I can save any more time unless I can get to the ground faster from placing the cube but oh well. Fun chamber.

On a similar note, someone speedran my Bridge Hopping chamber in 52 seconds which impressed me:

Havoc's Chamberception #1 was a bastard to complete, it took me about an hour. I spent most of this evening cutting the footage down to 24 minutes, though.

Skip to around 16 minutes in if you want to see me get frustrated 'cause I wasn't doing the test in the way I was supposed to.

It's a really awesome and challenging map though. Go download it from the links above if you haven't already.

EDIT: Also the roof of my study is thin - When it rains it gets noisy in here. That's why it sometimes sounds like there's a rockslide going on in the background.

I'm an Xbox user myself, so I've had NO experience with custom levels or map builders and that (which really dissaponts me). I've heard there is one coming to XBLA as Portal 2 DLC, but can anyone confirm this?

It can be either Chell or "Bendy" (the other character) at random.

Also I think I could cut Chamberception down quite alot. Would need to route plan a little bit.

I put my first level up. It's by and large a test of what the editor can do. It's very short and there's no real puzzle. Still, I'd appreciate any feedback on it.

Now that I have a feel for the editor I have some really cool ideas, inspired by the really nice looking test chambers in the per-release videos that were cut.

You two want me to video myself attempting your maps for the first time? Maximum 2 maps each, so select carefully. :P (Editing videos takes a lot of time - I just did the Splat Adventure event vid for the Minecraft server that we had 3 days ago, it took me about 4 hours. :S)

Sure : D Would be also nice if you tried to break it (Step into an unwinnable situation or win the chamber in a way I wasn't expecting) if possible. I don't think it is, because I fixed all issues I found before publishing the map, but still.

I've got only one map so far, so there's no room for me for selecting

Sweet! Of mine, I think you should film Platforms and The Pits.
They're not too hard, but Platforms can get a bit tedious at times .

So how are these videos coming along?

On another note, I can't launch the Portal 2 authoring tools. The dialogue box opens, saying 'Launching Portal 2 authoring tools' and all that, but then it just closes and nothing happens, does anyone know what's going on?

Nice xD You solved it faster than the other two testers, and in almost exact way that I intended. I blame them.

Although, you actually made it a little more annoying by yourself. You could avoid bouncing back from portals by pressing crouch button (CTRL) (blue gel stops working then and you can safely jump on it with no worries). You also didn't have to spray blue gel all over the walls while you wanted to go up in that hallway. It works with the blue gel only on the floor (first jump's height is a bit smaller than the first bounce, but you could reach it after that). I didn't use blue gel near the end door as well

Haha, thanks for my thumbs up! Although when you were fiddling with the laser, you were overthinking it, you were supposed to place a portal on the surface above the door, it makes it ten times easier. Oh well, you did it in a way I didn't think was possible. XD
