why does it have to be a remake?

why something like if vykers labs was open in exoddus (maybe wait until we can edit cam images of exoddus first though) but that's just an example.

and saying "but it's haaaard" isn't a good excuse.

I wasn't saying we should do vykers labs, I was just saying do something exiting, not something we've all done or played before.

other wise it's just an over hyped edit of a map.

A temple idea I've nicked named it Oblania, however I forgot that water doesn't exist in Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus.

It would have two main pathways foreground and background. The player will need to do various puzzles in the foreground effecting the background and vice versa.

I haven't though about the design of the temple but I thought a good idea is that when you reach the temple's entrance it is at sun set and once in the main hub it's at night time.

I might have a go at trying to make this on my own. But I'll probably won't get very far in making it though.

Something I'd like to use someday is a trap that I thought long time ago, if we put electric walls on Scale 1 under the floor collision line and put a really dark "shadow object" over it, we may get electric floors.

Thank you xXxrenhoekxXx, I'm not very good at drawing and colouring so I'm planning on using textures and cutting them into shapes for pathways and structure. I might post some test screens before planning the level.

I use paint.net on my laptop but on my family computer it has photoshop.
I'm going to use photoshop to make the level platforms but transfer it onto my laptop since I have Oddysee installed on it with pauls level edtitor, and I find paint.net easier to use.

Also does someone have the grid screen? Because I can't find it.

well why don't we pick a theme first?

like
factory,
cyber,
nature,
etc

if we're going to work together we're going to have to do something special.


EDIT:
also we need to find the largest level in oddysee.

also I did a quick mock up off how we could show off the design for our levels (so we can base our entrances on the last persons submissions.)
and we have to do this before designing because we can't move rooms around or copy them (last time I checked.)

Ideas:

Portal 2 theme: with plants at the beginning, then normal, then 60's style, then on fire.



Silent Hill theme: with valves, rust, pipes, darkness, non-sense.



Prince of Persia 1: 'nuff said.
Oddworld Adventure 2 remake.

Thank you for the grid screen skychase, however seeing you're test screens I'm ashamed of what took two hours for only one screen... : embarrassed:

The theme of the level... I would say Factory but I'm happy with anything.
Also I think R2 or D1/D2 are biggest in the game.

With Photoshop CS3.

I downloaded some textures, copy/paste them on cam, ctrl+t : perspective, scale, distort, add inner shadow. Layers with black blurry brush and clouds effect, blend mode: multiply, opacity: around 70%. Download blood brushes, red 96, blue 0, green 0, blend mode: hard light. Leaves/grass brushes, black, bevel and emboss in green, chisel soft, outer shadow....

something like this... ^^ maybe I'll add details later.

Death factory was one of my beta lvl in ao and minecraft too...it's a giant factory were a bomb will explose and you have to disamorse her and run to quit the factory !
But you fall in a dark part of the factory and you have to escape !

if we do end up picking a theme one of us should make pieces for parts of the level so it won't suddenly change drastically. (doesn't mean you can get away with only using those pieces).
