I thought you meant 3D as in the effect. I didn't know people had a problem with the move to 3D games nowadays. I don't have a problem with the fact that OWI moved to 3D for Munch's Oddysee. In my opinion, the move to 3D wasn't the worst part of the game, it was just the way some of it was handled.
I agree, anyway i like some 3D games but continuing 2D series in 3D is all ways bad in my opinion
Why's that? You may not have liked MO but what about SW?

I really cannot pick a favorite between 2D and 3D games. I equally love them both.
Third-Person, 3D platformers hold a place in my heart because they were the first games that I played (e.g. Crash Bandicoot) what I love about 3D games is that the world you play is in my opinion more immersive. You can explore much better and because it's 3D, it's more interesting.
What I love about 2D games is the gameplay mostly, sure most 2D platformers have a great worlds but I find that 2D games have more additive gameplay (e.g. Mario and Sonic)
Ah, we are high school boys,
the miserable high school boys.
If we were girls, we could get popular by doing anything:
rock band, jazz band,
karate, kendo, mahjong, cyborg, synchronized swimming...
On the other hand, high school boys are
useless outside battle and sports anime.
But they're recklessly trying to make a slice-of-life anime about us.

I was bugged about the fact that the GBA version of Munch's Oddysee wasn't proper 2D scroller. The topview gameplay was boring. I had hoped they would bring back some nostalgia with the GBA.
But as for the XBOX version, the 3D didn't bug me. I actually enjoyed playing MO the first time around. It's just not a game Im fan of.
In general I like 3D... I also like 2D. They are both great for each their purpose.
The best 2D games I know is Jazz Jackrabbit and of course AO/AE.

I think you need to justify this statement by comparing and contrasting to the following: "AO and AE are better than MO and that has nothing to do with the dimensions".

Well yeah, admittedly MO was just a crappy game. But I`ve yet to see OWI recreate the level of immersion and storytelling they did in 2D for 3D. I also think it`s hard to make a legitimately dark-looking 3D platformer; the open space gives you a sense of freedom that OW games aren`t about. You also can`t have pre-rendered backdrops and the same graphic styles as in AE and AO in 3D, and getting Mudokons to follow you around is a pain in the arse in a 3D world; they get jumbled all into each other and it turns into a mess.
Also, I`ve never played SW, so I can`t comment on that. So maybe my opinion would be different if I had. I dont know, I`m not a doctor.

There are plenty of dark 3D games. You don't need pre-rendered backdrops to have beautiful vistas in well-designed modern games (though in 2001 that would have been optimistic). Muds with well-designed AI would have no issue following you.
Basically, MO would have been fine in 3D if it was better made.

Blaming 3D for the quality of Munch's Oddysee is like blaming the inclusion of Munch and Vykkerz Labz. It wasn't the addition of new things, but the lack of the old values.
It must be said, though, that 3D programming and mechanics are much more complex than 2D mechanics, by at least one order of magnitude. A 3D game needs many more resources devoted to that side of development rather than design. But using that as a mark against it is equivalent to saying "2D games are better than 3D because they're easier to make."
Sorry but this was a best example,i don't like the 3d system on 2d.I didn't even start to play it and it seemed bad even though it might be the best game it didn't have the same feeling like playing AO or AE.For example i liked the new sonic the hedgehog 4 because the graphics are like 3D but it's still 2D
Many people whined about Alundra's graphics and it being 2d....
Then, we got Alundra 2 (in 3d) and people whined again....
