It was always unclear whether Nintendo intended the games to be linked or to all be different takes on the ideas and concepts, like Final Fantasy.

Wait what? Have they never revealed the official timeline of the games? That's strange.
It got translated from the Hyrule Historia.

EDIT: Just played Skyward Sword, Best Wii Game ever. I actually take back what I said about Skyward Sword being the best Zelda game. It isn't in my opinion, its reallly close though

E'l Scrabino (94)

So I was playing Skyward sword earlier today, and I accidentally asked Fi about my play time (the hints are mostly useless in any case but I like to give them a shot) and it turns out I'd been playing for 9 hours. Looks like I should take a break.

Skyward Sword is my favorite LoZ game to date. Also, I've always wondered about how the games linked up (dohohoho), so it's nice to see that a timeline has been constructed.

I've been playing it way too much lately. A load of hours every night. I'm so freaking engrossed though.

I've been having trouble with the controls, I swear the sword has a mind of its own sometimes. The Loftwing and the Beetle are a little too sensitive for my liking and the bombs are really annoying to roll. I guess I'm not used to it yet however I'm so used to the Twilight Princess controls, that may be the problem.

Anyway, I'm currently 6 hours in, I'm at the 2nd temple trying to find the pieces for the Temple Key. I was messing around in the Sky for waaay too long

Yeah, the motion controls can be very irritating. They've come a long way and are a lot better than when the Wii was first released, but it still has its disadvantages. Especially when Diving from the bird. Fuck me, you move the remote one way and Link will fly across to the other side of the screen so you have to keep repeating it to get it right. You'll get used to the beetle and the bombs quickly, I find them so fun to use.
