there is a meaning of tables though, to provide an elevated area from which putting things down or picking things up is made easier. Does that mean I've found the meaning of life?
You are confusing meaning and purpose.

I want them to find a way to live forever in my lifetime. I doubt it though.

I couldn't stomach living forever, it's not possible for a life form as complex as ourselves, well I suppose it could be, but as our cells regenerated, we wouldn't be the same person mentally and physically.

See biological immortality: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biologi...lity#Jellyfish

Well then it's a good thing we're not the same person biologically and mentally that we were seven years ago.

That's that problem out of the window.

I believe I solved the problem of material identity back in first year philosophy where I explained to my tutor that people aren't ships and cells aren't planks of wood. Imagine if you created an android with intrisically malleable metal to store data and change shape on, and you wired the central processing unit (Made out of the same kind of metal) to positively charge all metal 'cells' every day unless a significant amount of the CPU was taken out or was different at any single moment. Then change one 'cell' of metal once every day for the rest of time and see what you get.

Allow for some difference between nerves, organs, skin and blood cells and that's essentially us.

Happiness is fleeting. I try to pursue Comfort instead. That at least gives me a stable platform to search for Happiness from.

Someone told me ages ago that a secret to happiness is a sense of momentum, moving from endeavour to endeavour contentedly, whether each individual act was rewarding or not. Does this mean my short attention span is a good thing?

I think happiness is in reality the ability to accept the good stuff that happens to you better than the bad.

I don't think happiness is some magical feeling you can only get through specific actions.
I guess it's just related to how content and uplifted you feel generally.

I wish I knew how to capture happiness though. It's a skill I haven't polished very much yet.
