Lovable Games 08 - Android Games

This week I shall be writing about games available on the Android mobile marketplace. (Tested on my Samsung Galaxy Ace)

Game Dev Story (£1.60, free demo available, also on iPhone) - This is a fantastic game in which you run your own games company. You choose the genres and what things to focus on. Hire a team and design the best games. You can choose what consoles to develop for and where to focus your game design. This is more of a tycoon style game but is very good value for money. Definitely do try the demo and see what you think! PS - Try Grand Prix Story, it's even more fun!

Prison Tycoon (£1.28) - This is quite an interesting idea. You basically micromanage a prison and organise your prisoners. Make sure they don't escape, keep them busy with gyms, libraries and workshop activities. Keep an eye on prison finances and even call in the riot squad if things get crazy! You have a yearly mission such as "Let a prisoner escape" or "Parole at least two prisoners". This is a great game and in my opinion a fantastic purchase. Note: Much better than the PC prison tycoon games.

Note: You can try a purchase on the Android market for up to 15 minutes. If you uninstall it before 15 minutes, you will get a full refund.

Aliens Invasion (free) - For a free game, this is an excellent side-scrolling rpg in which you go into Inns and Hotels to pick up ammo and money. You start with a pistol and later on you can buy more weapons and kill stronger aliens. Is simple but very fun.

TibiaME (free with premium options) - This is a mobile version of the MMORPG Tibia. It is a fantastic RPG in several ways. You can log in and out at any time and save your character. You level up and can allocate skill points to different attributes. You can explore a vast world, talk to other players, compare stats and complete quests. Definitely the best free MMORPG on Android and a brilliant way to spend your time.

Jewels (free) - A brilliant version of Bejeweled. It has several modes such as quickplay, timed, long. A really fantastic way of spending a minute. Must get!

And there you have it. I shall compose more reviews when more games come out. Hope you all have fun on your Android device! PS If you download Kongregate Arcade, you can try some of my flash games such as Find A Zombie, Darkness Within and more!

PS My previous article about Super Paper Mario (along with my other Lovable Games articles) are here; http://alexfili.tumblr.com/

I wish I had one of those fancy new (2008 onward) phones.
I have an old Samsung (I don't even know the model) but it's served me well.

None of the above because I don't get sucked into buying shit that I honestly do not need, nor am I one of the cunts that will jump on the bandwagon just because everyone else is getting one.

I don't have any of those, but I have an iPod and I have some games for it. Game Dev. Story is really good and so is Plants vs. Zombies too.
