Shutting Down the Factory

Hi,

I just started playing Oddworld 2 Abe's Exxodus for the Playstation.

I've gotten to the second disk and I'm in a part with a map that says I can go a few directions. I decided to go up and to the left to get to the slig barracks. Well, i'm at a point where I can chant and take over a slig and then go one screen to the right and there is a voice thing that keeps on saying "hi". Well, I repeat Hi to it (as the slig) and it goes on to make other gamespeak noises, which I repeat after the machine. But I cant get any further. Am I doing something wrong here?

Please help!

What's weird is that is starts with "Hi" and ends with a Laugh. I get all the way through to the part were I repeat the laugh, and then a "deep" noise happens, but it's not part of the voicse thingy because it doesnt make any sound waves. what's that all about?

I dont even know if I"m making sense...

Needless to say, i still cant get past it. I get to that part, and just sit there as a slig trying to get past the voice security check. I've plugged this game into search engines, trying to find a walkthrough, but to no avail.

Ah well.

try slapping him/them, cuz they're probably Wired from laughing gas (hold R1 and press X or O while standing next to him/them)

Umm. I'm not at a part that deals with that.

I'm in the Slig Barracks. I've gotten to the part where you pull a lever and a Slig drops down. You take control of him, go one screen over to your right, and right there in front of you is a voice recognition security checkpoint. It says "Hi" to you. You are supposed to respond with "Hi" as well. It then proceeds to do 3 more sounds, the last one being a "Laugh". I repeat the sounds as the voice machine does them, but I dont get through the checkpoint. What the heck am I doing wrong here? Everything I've read online makes it seem like I should be able to do this no problem and then go on a killing spree with my possessed slig and move onto the heart of the Slig barracks. But that's not happening because I cant get past the stupid voice checkpoint.

Please, Help me!

You have to wait with the sounds till he is finished like this
Voice lock: Aye.
you : Aye
Voice lock: making sounds, laugh.
you : making same sounds(try it fast)
then laugh
The voicelock should answer the laugh with some sort of BLEH! and shut the ting (probably electric field or door)
