editing .bsq files is impossible???

Has anyone reversed this application before?

http://www.cyberwarriorx.com/files/seq2mid10rc1.zip

mid2seq – Basically does the opposite of what Seq2mid does. It encodes Midi Format 0 files into Saturn Seq format. Only basic interface was finished, no sense releasing it(yet).

After extracting many midi files from a bsq file, i can then modify them
in FL Studio. Now they are modified and i want to put them back to the original bsq file, also replacing existing seq files in bsq file. then you hear new oddworld music with same instruments as before.

Someone must build a [bsq song extract and midi music import replace] for me and others too.

Its not impossible, the BSQ is many Seq's stuck together, you need to pull them apart properly.

Edit: Btw if you google the PS1 dev kit called "PSYQ" you'll find the real smf2mid by s0ny (smf is simple midi file..)

Edit again: It would actually be very handy to know if they're unmodified SEQ files in the PC version, if you can't find the tool I may give you directions on how to... "obtain" it if you'd like

BSQ is lots of SEQ (Playstation midi format files) all stuck together, SMF is simple midi format used on PC's. SEQ's are just like Midi/SMF but play sound samples with various effects applied to them from VAB/VH/VB files.

Why is it that you're trying to edit these files?

That didn't really answer the question? Seq files where the only thing I was *not* going to decode from the games because I have no idea how they work. I might give it a try sometime though, but don't get your hopes up cause I don't get much free time these days.

Its prob worth trying to switch music tracks around and stuff, use smf2mid and look for vab tool or whatever it was called (to edit vb/vh)
