A New Arrival

Pacen, Magua, and Osiris are tuning up, when a figure staggers round the corner. It is vaguely mudokon-shaped, but its skin is a pure white, and its eyes glow with inner light.

"Help! They are c-"

It breaks off, its back arching as if it had been stabbed in the back. It collapses onto the ground before the musicians. The musicians back off, but move forward when the figure does not move. Pacen crouches beside it. Osiris runs to the corner.

"Nothing."

Pacen indicates the stranger's back. "Nothing hit him."

"Who is he?"

Pacen hesitates. "I don't... I don't know."

Magua speaks up. "Help him?"

Osiris agrees. "Let's get him to a house. We can look after him there. Magua, go and fetch Jal, will you?"

Magua hops off, while Osiris and Pacen lift the stranger onto their shoulders. His skin is cold, but they can feel his heart beating. He weighs less than a child.

When they have got him to the nearest hut, Magua arrives with Jal. As they walk into the room, the stranger convulses again, then his eyes fly open. His head turns to Jal, his eyes glowing white.

"You...!"

Jal's lips move, and it is Jal's voice that issues from them, but it is not Jal who speaks.

"Leave us."

Pacen looks whitely at Jal and the stranger, who are staring into each other's eyes. "Come on," he says, and he and Magua exit. Osiris gives one last look at Jal, who is weilding his stick like a shield, then leaves.

Osiris: Jeez... what a great way to end a concert.

Magua: Tell me about it.

Osiris: If things keep up like this, I might have to mmelt my trombone into a brass weapon. Eeek. What should we do now?

The stranger looks at Jal, an expression of fear on his face. Then he smiles.

"I know what you are."

"So do I. I'm a mudokon."

"No you're not. You're like me. You're closer to me than to them."

"What are you then?"

The stranger stares at Jal in disbelief. "You mean you don't know? Is that possible? to be like us and not know it?" He smiles again. "Ah, well, it makes my task easier..." And he sinks back into his bed.

"What task?" The stick in Jal's hand begins to glow, and Jal flares up, angrily. "TELL ME!!"

But the stranger merely smiles in his sleep, and seems not to notice Jal beating him with the stick.

When Osiris returns to collect his trombone, which he forgot, Jal has gone, and the stranger seems remarkably peaceful.

Wow. I thought you were a goner for sure when you keeled over like you were stabbed. Odd works in mysterious ways..... Hey! Wait a minute, where's Jal??

Mysterious mudokon like creature: Jal left earlier. Don't worry.

Osiris: Oh. I'm Osiris the Darchon. Heard of us?

MMLC: Well.....

Osiris: Of course. Don't worry. I'd rather not have people know about my race. Anyway, this seems rude, but I'm not from around here eather, so i've been asked this question too. Umm... What... are you?

Sounds good to me. As long as you don't try to kill me. Osiris leaves the hut, still wondering what that thing was.

ooc: its ok, Moon Children (Cili) have a bluish tint to their white skin, not just pure white

so its different enough. Im not picky.

I could be misinterpreting this, as English isn't my best subject, but you are aware my character has very dark skin aren't you?

), he's kind of like a dark jedi for mudokons I guess.

I don't want to associate myself with your plot too much in case I ruin something, you may though.

Two muds rush in. The stranger is already on his feet.

"You have to come with us!"

*sigh* "I know..."

The muds are surprised. "Rettick said you'd resist."

"Rettick doesn't know as much about us as he thinks he does."

"'You'?"

"Me and Jal. Jal doesn't know what he's become either. Maybe it isn't him exactly... Anyway, Let's go!"

They exit.

Destroyed in a civil war? Hmm, how about if (very basic description here) Pacen was sick of the evil ways (remember they're like Dark Jedi) of his sub-species and fled, and found Pyke. Would that suit your story well? I haven't really decided yet, I'll wait for your reply, you should talk to me on ICQ!

basically, i kinda need your race to be a bit rare these days, with not many of you left. if you left before the destruction, that's cool, i just want to talk about the breakdown of your civilisation.

Pacen is a teenager, about 18 or 17, not old sorry.
