SPIKEY BALL THINGIES IN ODDYSEE

They are so hard to avoid! Whenever I am on the ledge, when it gets to me, I GET HIT! When I stand up near by, and when it goes to me, I GET HIT! (This also happens in the end of the Scrab Nest with falling rocks, but i got through that.). I need to crouch once i go to the thin platforms to avoid those. but god they swing so fast! How am i gonna get past these?

I don't think this needs a thread... You have to time your jumps just right, practise makes perfect, after all. Or you do what I used to do and hold the hop button from when you enter the area. If I remember right you jump the platforms in time.

just dont jump when they're close, only do it when they're far away

They're not hard. Just time it so that you're jumping at the moment the bob is at the peak of its swing.

With some of them, if you stand one step back from the ledge you'll be safe from the rocks and can jump and catch on to the next ledge to pull yourself up.

They're not really hard. Like everyone else said, all you need is timing.

I don't remember the second trial ones (the ones with the slog right after them, in the door with the sligs), but I know that to get through the fourth trial ones (the rightmost door on the upper level) you have to roll in from the previous screen without stopping, you should miss the ball and catch onto the ledge. Then, wait until the ball you just passed is at its highest point, climb up, and then crouch immediately. Roll over to the edge of that ledge, wait until the ball is at its highest point, very quickly stand up, jump, and immediately sit down. You can also roll directly off the ledges, but I believe on the way back you can fall off that way.

Surely you're not trying to jump them all at once? You have to stop and time them each individually.

As I recall you don't need to jump at all. You can just roll and quickly get up and crouch. If you don't get up quickly you get killed by bats. Hope this helps.

That was kinda off topic... anyway, There are actually two spots where you have to avoid the spicked boulders, and for me, there are two methods for each spot. For the first one, I have to roll, hit the ledge, get up and immeadiatley crouch, to avoid the bat. The second one, however, allows me to jump freely without worry. I don't know if I'm being repetetive or not, but I was just putting the Spike-Boulder troubled person's best intrest at heart...
