I myself have always preferred the industrial aspect of Oddworld. The creatures that ran the facilities, as well as the facilities themselves always seemed more interesting to me than the natives and wildlife.
What a shame, I feel like missing out on a lot because I never bought a Xbox. I wished MO & SW were atleast ported to other consoles or the pc as well.
That would have been cool, but originally they wanted to. But Sony couldn't produce it in time, and Oddworld needed to release it sooner so they just had X-box produce MO. SW had the same problem I believe. Not too sure, but... I'm sure that Max, Nate, or Xavier probably knows the whole story, so you could probably visit TOL to learn more.

MO was developped on the PS2 but for some reasons Lorne did not like that platform and jumped to the Xbox as soon as it was possible to develop for it.
So they re-started almost everything but for Xbox. They had an Xclusive contract for the next few game with Microsoft, so no PS2 or PC version was even tried.
After that they did SW (Xclusive for Xbox), but Microsoft threw them away so they went to EA. EA wanted to do a port for PS2 but failed to do it because the game was designed to take all the power out of the Xbox.
So EA lost interest and only released the Xbox version.
I can imaging why they wouldn't bother with a PS2 version anymore, as it would mean they had to invest time to alter the entire game to PS2's standard.
I don't understand however; why they never bothered releasing both games on the pc.
I'd have liked them for PC. PS2's crappy engine and graphics wouldn't be able to handle MO and SW, the beauty of them would destroy it. I WISH they released it for PS2 just for it to be blown up.

The PS2 was the best-selling console of that generation. Hiring another company to port it to the PS2 would have increased their sales drastically. As for the PC; I really doubt the style of platforming in MO and SW would have suited a keyboard. Look at Psychonauts - awesome game but it just doesn't work on the PC.

Spending as long as I do here, it's easy to forget that Oddworld has actual fans.
Talking About Arcade at the local bowling ally they use to have an arcade game machine and they didnt have the full version of AE on it but more then half the demo.
