Tough question. So I'm not gonna say yes or no.
Disclaimer for rest of post: I'm not knocking on anyone who is a vegetarian, and I'm not trying to convince anyone to change their eating habits. So there.
And now ....
Look! The food pyramid! It's easier for us, as humans, to go by this set of guidelines. I know that we have a choice in what we can eat, but isn't it much more of a hassle to go out of your way to avoid eating anything that an animal produces (like milk, cheese, etc., aside from just meat)? I know that there are vegetarians who do that. Right on for you if you can keep it up and aren't malnourished or anything.
I find this interesting: some of us think it's wrong to eat other animals. This being the case, does this make it wrong for other animals to eat each other? Were the only animals to have instances of sitting down and thinking "Hey ... I'm killing and eating lower beasts to survive! I'd better cut this shit out!"
:
But Dave! Other animals have to do it to survive! They have no other alternatives, and we do! Besides, it's nature/God's plan/insert other explanation here.

You're right. I know we have a choice. But we evolved to live on both animals and plants for a reason - it works for us. I just think it's easier to do the Omnivore.
