Argh! Need pointers on AE

Hi all,
First post, so be gentle...

I finally got AE running on Windows XP (using the revised downloaded .exe - I think it claims to be a translation of a Spanish version?!) and it's been great. No problems. Until....

I'm in the FeeCoDepot - the Executive Office (screen FD11C0P ?). Essentially, Abe's been standing on a tiny platform, waiting for the sligs to pass underneath, then jumped to pull a lever to raise a wall to lock him in the Bathroom/ Exec Office. The sligs, meanwhile, are shooting at the wall, ineffectually. It's all good.

Abe then progresses onto the next screen where there is a Glukkon standing, quite possibly at a urinal. The Glukkon is separated from Abe by a tiled wall. OBviously Abe has to chant and possess the Glukkon. Which works fine.

Problem comes then. As the Glukkon, I can't move, speak or do anything. Pressing (to jump) results in a huge leap from the Glukkon, followed by him disappearing. Pressing <0> (to dispossess him) brings him back, but then I have the same problem as above.

I'm guessing it's a bug, but haven't found any mention of it online. Anyone have this problem/ know how to resolve it?

Hmmm never heard that glitch before... Im sorry but i dont kno wot u could do.

I know it, dealt with it and found a solution to it. It is indeed a glitch, and a very nasty one at that.
What you could do is go to gamecopyworld.com and download some of the mini images they have there. Some of the german ones seem to work, but it misses a lot of sounds and music unfortunatly. I tested the german ones, and Aslik doesn't freeze up there anymore but it does indeed miss a lot of sounds.

When you say mini images - that's what, an image of one screens or a couple of screens to get you past the glitch? Or a version of the game (German version etc) that requires playing from the start?

By image I meant actualy a diffrent version of the .exe. I forgot you didn't need an image to get it working. Basicly, a replacement .exe like you're using now, but a diffrent version that does work.

Legend. Just downloaded a different version of the .exe (a German one), used that for a couple of screens then switched back. If only all games were so simple...

Well I dunno if you can use it as a replacement for a few screens. It might replace your savegames as well, so I dunno how that works. I can only guarentee that Aslik won't freeze up, but thats all I can tell you.

The savegames seem to apply independently of which version of the .exe is used. Certainly I've switched back with no problems.
