The Olympics

So, anyone been following thewinter Olympics in Torino?

I personally am very impressed with Russia's tripple axle throw in ice dancing. I also liked China's performance to led Zeppelin. Very good indeed.

So, your comments?

I declare that curling is the most incredibly boring sport to watch, besides golf. The poor announcers... They have hardly anything to talk about to fill the time because everything goes so slowly. Once, an announcer randomly said (obviously to break the silence) "Her favorite food is spaghetti...."

I was sad to see Michelle Kwan have to drop out; I've watched her skate since I was a tiny Ambi.

And it's amazing how young some of the kids are there... The youngest I've seen was a 14 or 15-year-old snowboarder or something.

FLYING TOMATO!!! go redheads.
I like the games, all the sports are fun, except curling, like Bambi said. Its sweeping with a rock. more like sleeping with a rock, not that kind of sleeping, but just ZZZZZZ...sleeping, you could sleep with The Rock, but thats not an olympic sport. The Rock would be happy to sleep with many girls from different countries, but that'd be a twisted sport. the XXXlympics. Yeah, that would be wierd.
BUT ENOUGH WITH MY RANTINGS!!!:P:P:P

EDIT: lol, the first person to p/host on this thread joined in 2005, Ambi in 2004, and I in 2003. thats funny

Not really (he says as someone who joined in 2002...)

I haven't kept up to date with the winter olympics, what with not having a working TV and all. Even when I did my contact was mostly limited to Roy and HG, two Australian comedy commentators who are the only people I've ever seen who can make a curling commentary exciting - mostly by making stuff up, admittedly.

I'd say the best part of the Olympics was the Female snowboarding competion. That Lindsay girl falling on her butt after showing off made me laugh for five minutes. It was great, just goes to show that show-offs get their just deserets in the long run.

WEE DID IT!!!! 2005,2004,2003,2001!!!!! WE DID IT!!!! we should get a gold metal in coincidences. good job Mitsur. Yeah, we get the Olympics hours later than you Euro people. But I won't complain. Yes, I posted again, but really, a count down year! Next time they'll be in Toronto! another Tor_o city, it won't be as close to me as Salt Lake was, but it'll be closer than Italy. Still probably won't go. What sucks though is that when the Olympics are going on, we're still fighting. Thats pretty dumb if you ask me.

And I've done every other post since my first post here, but that ain't special. Even I didn't want to do it, but I couldn't pass it up

The womens snowboarding was interesting... that thing where they go down a set course, lots of turns and jumps... I forget the name of it now...

Anyway there was this "outside-chancer" from Brazil, the only Brazillian to ever enter Snowboarding in any form in the Olympics. She was way behind in last position, the other three were ahead looking like it would be the typical run (more experienced boarders from the top snowboarding countries coming first to 3rd). Then, suddenly all 3 fall down, the Brazillian zooms past them, and ends up finishing first!

I was only watching here and there but that bit really caught my eye. That's the kind of thing you see in a film, so to see it happening for real... man it must've taken some pretty good deeds in a past life to pull that off.

That's what we in Australia call "Pulling a Bradbury" after Steve Bradbury who won Australia's first ever Winter gold medal when everyone in his heat and the finals fell down in front of him.
