Main RP

Well, I think it's about time that we finally start a main RP, and the last couple of days, I've come up with a pretty good concept. I've unstickied the old Main RP Ideas, so new comments will go in this thread.

So, I decided that I wont make it based on some huge Stats'system. Like TBM said, it ruins the fun.

Oh well, the concept is in the future. lets say that Abe succeeded in giving the Mudokons more freedom.
It's about 100 years after the whole freedom-thingy, and Mudokons now live with sligs and all the city-creatures. There are also Native mudokons around in the wild. But some of the Industrialists, still feel some hatred against Mudokons, and there are still Mudokons used as slaves, which can be recognised by a special mark, burned on their skin. Free City-Mudokons have to wear a black loincloths with a sign drawn on it.
The Native Mudokons are still in danger, since Industrialists often go out to capture them. But first they try to convince them to join the Industrial side. The ones who agree, gets to be a free city-mud, if not, they'll get sendt to be slaves.
Since Oddworld is really big, there's both alot of Industrial and Natural landscapes. Mountains, rivers, snowy places, lakes, buildings, factories, towns, cities and even Big cities.

If you all like the idea, I'll work more on it, and make a plot.

Hmmm I always kinda conciderd W@RF to be the main RP... but that could just be me. The idea sounds cool tho, worth a shot.

Yeah, this sounds great, a lot of potential in there. The whole situation is just great for developing characters and events. Get this up and it should be great!

Yeah, sounds great! I also like the idea of linking it with the other RP's. I think it could link with Behind the Ruins (the Necrum one, whatever it's called) as well.

Yeah, it sounds nice to me too. But I'll miss the stickyness of W@RF because it was always so easy of just clicking the top thread.
But anyhow, the prologue-like thingy sounds great.
Edit: Oh, I noticed that WARF isn't unstickied yet. YaY!

Lol, relax I'm still in Canada, so I still cant do something right now. I'll work on it when i get home. I think there will go at least some weeks before you will see the Main RP up and running. I'm starting in college or whatever it is, so i wont have so much sparetime anymore

Yes sounds good, i have a questions tho, if mudokons and glukkons live together, does that mean mudokons can get glukkon technology, i.e slig guns

If you spent some time at W@RF, you'd know that's possible. A Mudokon with a Slig rifle... Infinite possibilities...

Realisticly no because they have no thumbs but in an RP i guess..though it seems rather odd as to why a mudoken would want to use some an idustrialist created.

Might I suggest that in the interest of a Main RP, the concept be left rather broad or open and the plot not too linear as to allow for other RP's that are created on the side to be unique on their own account, yet still tie in (albeit, loosely) with the Main RP.

I feel setting it in the future where Industrials live alongside the Natives could be limiting. Certainly some societies would need to be composed of mixed species and cultures, but the general Industrials vs. Natives scenario and inner felt hatred for one another really fuels Oddworld RPs - if done correctly, that is.

Oddworld Inhabitants have created a world and society that's near perfection as it is. Why need we alter such beautifully established relations between species? The thought is there, but keeping things simple and in context seems to be the better choice to me. Particularly if when the quintology is later progressed we find this 'future' to be completely unrealistic or with gaping plot holes and continuity flaws...

My vision for a 'Main RP', as such, would not be a singular thread such as, say, W@RF, but a broad theme, time period and set of locations / key events for us to take into account before structuring our own RPs around the Main RP. Every now and then a new 'official' RP would be made that furthers along the overall plot and storyline of the Main RP etc.

Just a few thoughts and suggestions.
