Oddworld Get your OW Icons here

That is, possibly soon get your Oddworld icons here.
Thanks for letting me in moderators.
Ok my name is Andrew and I'm an Oddworld Fanatic. And I've made some Oddworld Desktop icons, from AO and AE cos I'm retro and nostalgic.
I have a big icon library of them. And I can't stop making more of them...
Anyway. Someone suggest a way to distribute these icons (does this forum host for you?) 1.3 MB zipped for my basic desktop library, but I could make it smaller if I left out all the giant (128 x 128) versions contained in them.
Oh and if you don't like them, you could always suggest some others I could make instead that you do actually want.
Here's some of the icons, assuming the attachment shows up automatically when I post (it doesn't show up on preview).

[edit] changed picture type from png to jpg

Thanks for support! Ahh forums... they make it all seem worthwhile.
Anyone want to host them? I'll e-mail them to anyone who can. I e-mailed Alcar once but no reply so far.
Maybe this attach thing will work. My high quality one with sizes up to 128x128 was too big but this smaller one with sizes up to 48x48 should be big enough for most people.

My thoughts exactly. Unfortunately, I don't know of any sites that let you host files, and I don't have a site to host it myself, so I can't really help you.

P.S. Mahaha, another New Zealander!

I don't know when to stop, so here are some more icons.
All further icons are not for anything in particular the way the desktop ones are. They're just icons.

Sweet. I'll post rest of the smaller versions on here, if you want to host the really big versions (your call) then I'll have to send you them somehow...

You guys love AO / AE icons right? Can't get enough of them? I certainly hope so...
Creature contains Abe, Elum, Slig, Slog, Glukkon, Spirit, Scrab, Paramite, etc...
Logo contains Rupture Farms, Mudokon Pops, Soulstorm Brew, etc...

Want any more icons made? I've made all the ones I felt like making. Post requests here, preferably with links to pictures that need iconising. Or if you maybe wanted any of these icons in another format or something.

Yes i will upload the big versions to my server as well. I'm trying to get my Oddworld inspired site up and running so i will need these few days before the weekend to get it sorted, then i can host them.

If you can email them to gj.mcfarland */ btinternet.com. Replacing */ with @, obviously.

It's actually quite simple, unzip them somewhere to your harddrive, then right click on something that you want to use one of the icons on. Click on "Properties," then "Change Icon" and click Browse. Go to where you unzipped the file, and if you can't find it, set "Files of type" to "All Files." Then you should be fine.

How would one go about getting these icons to work if using a Mac? Sorry I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to customising the Mac.

Windows icons don't work for Mac, and all the programs I've found for converting windows icons (.ico) to Mac icons (.icns) run on the Mac. You can have a go at it yourself with either of these:
http://www.mscape.com/products/iconographer.html
http://www.iconfactory.com/px_home.asp
Hopefully it doesn't matter that the windows icons are stored in a library (.icl) instead of as individual .ico's.

Ok, I've had time to get the high-quality icons onto my site.

You can download them from the following page http://www.slogmeat.com/index.php?downloads. They're in zip format, brief instructions on how to use them are given on the site.

As for the state of slogmeat, it's still under construction so non of the other pages currently function.

If you have any trouble downloading them please let me know, thanks.

Enjoy

Thanks Elodie. Best of luck with converting them for Mac if you get round to it, that sort of work tends to get tedious.

By ripping images off websites (thank you Xavier for TOGG, DepthsOfOddworld and Oddworld.com were useful too), using photoshop for whatever editing was necessary, and using a trial version of Axialis IconWorkshop to make the icon files.
