Unfortunately, I don't remember such a thing. I definitely recall Lorne saying humans would never appear, and that the reason for the Moons' creation would never be revealed, but that's the closest I can think of.

If it weren't 5am I'd see if I could find it. But the trouble with the internet, is that most of the old links in my news archives don't work ... and probably if they did, this would have been back earlier than that. I'm always amazed at you Max ... you have that ability to retain all that OW information that many of us can only dream of.

Nah, obsessive-compulsivism is all the natural geeky goodness an encyclopaedic Oddworld fan needs. And a decent memory, too.

I just wish I could have a clearer memory from the very beginning of Oddworld's history. There's so much stuff even I can't remember, that's burried in time. Aww well. All this nostalgia is making me edgy.

I wouldn't really want to see an inhabitant in a spaceship ... it kind of seems out of place.
I would love to venture into space with an Oddworld character. I think the reason it turns other people off is because when people think of Oddworld, they think of deep culture, dark humour, spirituality...etc. And when people think of space, they think of Star wars and laser blasting. That wouldn't mix at all.

I do think that OWI could portray space in their own odd and unique way and make it work. I hope to see Oddworld go into space.

not exactly it's one of the 3D artists that hided it as homage to Farzad who designed the character.

The obsession is there, but the memory just isn't so good. I sometimes find that reading things triggers things for me ... like with the space thing. But then it's just a vaugeness, and possible that it isn't even correct. I actually tried to do some searching, but came up blank on it ... so maybe I'm getting mixed up after all.

Hey, thats mabey why theres Faireytails & Habitales they don't have to be true. They can make things that are not true in the real OW.

You mean like how The Simpsons have the Treehouses of Horror? No, I don't think I could handle that. It would just impede on Oddworld's integrity. SoBe was enough to throw fans off the bandwagon, something created with the intention of it not quite 'being Oddworld' would do much more harm than good.

which means doing it right... and not doing anything that would "impede on Oddworld's integrity" (thanks Max)

I think the concept behind the Fearietales idea was that we would explore another side of Oddworld ... a dark and scary side which possibly centered around spirits and the like. We already know spirits exisit on Oddworld, so that theme would have possibly been expanded on and we would have maybe seen how they were tortured souls and came across the more evil spirits of the world also.

I doubt it would have been anything like telling a story or anything like that.

The Habitales was referring to "Hand of Odd" I believe.

I expected the Fearietales be more horror games, like Silent Hill or things like that...
It could be very good, visit a destroyed mudokon village with the spirits of the death muds screaming for revenge, and scaring the hell out of the "visitors"

Fearietales would have kicked total ass!!! I hope they still keep that idea. After viewing this topic earlier, I dug out my Abe's Exoddus booklet which mentions about the Fearietales and it says about it being phychological horror with no blood and gore. How awesome would that be. The best kind of horror IMO is the kind of horror which manages to scare the hell out of you without the need for special effects and the like [unlike some corny horror movies now days which rely on effects]. That's why I like [and don't wish to contine playing ... eep] the Silent Hill games ... cause they scare the goddamn hell out of me. Although they do use a bit of blood and gore, it's not overused, and most of the scariness comes from the environments and the atmosphere that the games create [sound, etc]. Now imagine something like that on Oddworld. Although it would probably end up being the only Oddworld game that I wouldn't be able to finish for above said reason ... I just would totally love to see that side of the world.

I have nothing against blood and gore, but if OWI think they can do it without it then it's fine...

I heard some rumors saying the project was cancelled, but maybe it's just suspended.

I agree Abe Babe, which is why I fell in love with Gothika.
The Fearietales does sound great, a psychological horror 'from the other side'. Sounds very spiritual.
Note how it also calls it a 'massive mystery series' in the booklet.

I did notice that, which would mean it would be much more than survival horror ... but one would guess that you would need to do some investigating or searching for clues as well, which would all lead towards maybe answering questions that appear to be unanswered while the game progresses.

The Fearitales would be great. We all saw Necrum in AE which had a very mysterious and almost ghostly appearance to it. My fanfic; Evit's Oddysee (which I have been writing alot lately and refraining from posting) is basically a Fearitale in it's own way. I haven't gotten to the chapters filled with ghosts and such, but I've been working on them. I expect the Fearitales to be sort of like AO, dark with little sarcasm, I would love to have OW scare me.
