After month's in secret development and enough final tweaking for even the most prim and proper of safety inspectors, OddBlog is finally opening its door for the general public.

I know I've been annoyingly teasing you all with my signature, but 'twas all leading up to something real and tangible - something I can assure you The Oddworld Encyclopaedia will one day be - and here it is, readily awaiting its first non VIP visitor.

Well, a couple of weeks ago, before the forum change, you had the link to it in your sig for a short while. While it was there I had clicked on it and seen.

Thanks, all. OddBlog has recieved the highest award I expect it'll ever get - being on the Oddworld.com links page. We're quite highly ranked, too.

But I'm really most happy that we managed to actually get it up and running.

Hmmm, thanks for point that out, Miss Odd. The code is there for links to highlight when the cursor is placed over them, but in my browser the banner never does highlight. I'll sort the problem out tomorrow.

Okay...scroll up until you see the Oddworld Forums Banner. Okay, look above that and you see links to sites. Oddworld Web, Oddworld Universe...etc. Ummm, I think OddBlog should be added to the list. If you have to replace one, make it Microsoft Games. I mean, does anyone go there anymore? It's not an updated site...it's just a site that sits there.

Basically, the links at the top are really just relating to the forum webmaster's sites. That is Oddworld-Web and Oddworld-Universe. Before Alcar became super moderator, it was Oddworld-Web and Oddworldian that were listed at the top. Oddworld Universe was not included before then. The rest of the sites listed are neutral sites, that is OddChat [part of the forums], Oddworld.com and Microsoft Games. By choosing to place official sites, we are not being bias towards any other fan sites.

While both myself and Alcar to agree that OddBlog is a great addition to the OW fan site community, it would be unfair to promote some sites and not others there. An example could be Hayley's Depths of Oddworld site, which also recieves a high rating from Oddworld Inhabitants. It would be unfair that we are not giving her a link at the top if we chose to give OddBlog a link. And some people might see it as unfair if their site isn't included also. And on the other side of things, it would turn into a mess if we put all of the fan sites on there.

I agree; I'm very happy with OddBlog, but I wouldn't want to see it detering other fans from developing their own sites and services.

But I'm highly chuffed at your making the suggestion, oddguy.
