: Should OWI make more bonus games?
Yes. The bonus games are nice extras that add more depth to the story. 14 77.78%
No. I don't like the idea and/or I think they should stick with parallel stories. 1 5.56%
I wouldn't care either way. I'll follow OWI no matter which way they decide to take their games. 3 16.67%

Oddworld Should Oddworld Continue With Bonus Games?

Well, should they? As in, should OWI make an ME, SE, NE and so on? Or should they just make side stories to support the games, like the Steef game and Hand of Odd?

In my opinion, I don't think they should. Mainly because I kinda want to forget about MO... you know, like an old casserole that you didn't particularly care for, but didn't say anything because your Grandmother made it. Besides that though, is there really anything else that Munch needs to accomplish besides raising the eggs?

AE was great and all, but I'm wondering if it would be better for OWI to just do supporting parallel games instead of bonus games.

well i think they should, the quintlogy would end so fast if it weren't for the bonus games

I think they should continue with them. AE proved that bonus games are great for improving the gameplay, and in a way, make up for what was lacking in the first. So ME might be able to make up for MO, in a way.

They should only continue with the bonus games, if the actual quintology game had anything left out. If MO doesn't have anything else to add to it, continue with the next.

Exactly. But I think they should make ME, for the Meetles, Mugs, Blimps and stuff would be great.

i think alot was left out of MO. they should make up for it in ME if you ask me....

but we all know Steef's game isn't going to be an Oddysee or Exoddus (no Oddysee). making it a bonus game that doesn't make up for anything or work with any other stories.

they should make more bonus games like Steef's (no Exoddus or anything)

I think they could add so many things to ME to make it great, gameplay wise, and story wise. Theres a lot that needs to be fleshed out before we even meet Squeek. Im sure they wont make any of the same mistakes from MO again.

Anyways, think of all the stuff they added to AE, of course AO was a great game, but all the stuff they added to AE added more depth, and more things to do in the game such as posessing more creatures, expanded gamespeak, new enemies, and a larger game total.

Munch's Exoddus will be most likely about Munch protectecting the baby gabbits and Abe running into Sam. And maybe Munch breaks his leg. But it definitly will be centered around the Gabbiar and Sam.

I think bonuses like the exodusses are realy good, it makes us understand the stories a lot better and we can learn a lot more about the characters themselves

I see no reason why bonus games can't be made. It's no good saying, "What else is there for Munch to do now?" because after AO we didn't really know that Abe more work to do shutting down SoulStorm Brewery and rescuing the spirits of Necrum - it added a whole new plot that both supported and extended upon the original Oddysee, even helping to set things up for the introduction of Munch. Munch has got more to do now than Abe had after his first game, namely raising all those baby Gabbits.

I would go so far as to say I'd be disappointed if each game in the Quintology didn't have at least one bonus game. I'd rather OWI got on with the Quintology - the story we've all been following for the last 5 years - than produce games like OW4 and Hand of Odd, although I understand Lorne's desire to get away from his weak heroes for a bit. Here's hoping that OW4 will contribute towards the story of the Quintology, hence justifying itself.

Lorne has so many ideas that I think he needs bonus games and extras just to try and fit it all. OWI is going to be in business for a long time because they are creative and have unique ideas. They are storytellers telling us a story, so we should sit back and let it unfold before our eyes with each new game. OW is ten times larger than earth, so justice would not be done if everything was rushed and bonus games were cut out. Keep the games coming OWI!

The books for that turned out really good In my opinion. The Fall of Reach was great, and The Flood is pretty good too. Im sure eventually Oddworld could easily make novels expanding upon the universe, maybe some more background history. I mean look at LOTR the books contain so much more then what the movies can fit.

I still think Hand of Odd should be made. It would be great to work cooperately with people online to either destroy or help the environment, or just live out a normal day within oddworld.

There will probabaly be the Art of Oddworld because all the artwork that is done in the studio is saved and put in a file or a tear sheet. So in time its likely that they will make a book of all the work done on Oddworld. Oddworld will be movie and a lot times there is usually a book comemorateing the art of that movie. Look at the "The Art of Star Wars." The same thing is going to happen with Oddworld I bet.

Either use Amazon or the Bungie store sells them online too. If you need any help or such with finding something just send me a PM.

Anyways, back to topic. I agree with PA, and Oddguy, they should release something along the lines of a scrapbook, or full book of oddworld concept work, or actual final artwork prints. I mean look how much was in the credits alone. If oddworld starts the motion picture thing soon, Im sure we would get an art book even sooner.

Usually what happens Al is the movie hits theaters before any art book of that movie is released. I good example is The Art of Star Wars Episode 1 and The Art of Star Wars Episode 2. They came out during and after the movie came out not before. Its not until the movie is released until the book comes out. Because usually all that work is being sorted and put in the tare sheets which is basically a portfolio of art to be put on file. Then the artist put his or her name and phone number and their paticular style in a national illustraitor address book. Which is sent out all over the country to clients. So that later if a client is intrested in that paticular style of art he or she would call him up have that artist go and do something for them. The artist will then go to his scrab book or Tare Sheet and tare out the piece and write a letter to the client on what he or she wants them to do along with his or her piece. hense the word tare sheet. Or its being used at the moment being filmed and formatted to fit in the blue screen elements. Usually what happens is what you get in the book is a copy of the original piece. Because the original piece could very well be an 18 by 24 painting or drawing. Heck sometimes an original matt painting can be the size of an entire set where you see artist standing on latters painting the back ground. But nowadays 80% of the job is done on the computer but still before the computer stage of the job there is always the free hand stuff that is done in a whole multitude of different sizes. Generally they are recorded and reduced in size when the books are being put together. But they arent the original pieces. The originals are stored in huge files.

There is a book of artists that is sold in Borders book store I forget the name of it but if you are a free lancer you can get your name in this book so that clients can see what you do. But I am not quite sure if the film companys do this maybe some but not all. ILM doesn't do that because they are a privately owned company and they recrute their artist from Berkley. I really don't think OWI's artists are listed in this book as well because OWI is privately owned I bet. You have to be a free lancer I think. Maybe Farzad is listed in this book because of the fact he left OWI for something else. That generally means he is a free lance artist. An artist on the move. They don't stay with one company they move on to different companies and different projects.

Abe's Exoddus is the Bonus game of Abe's Oddssey.

Munch's Oddssey is really the second game of the five part game seris called "The Oddworld Quintology" There is going to be five main games most likely all called an Oddssey. Following the Oddssey games are games that will finnish off that character's story which will be called most likely an Exoddus game which is a bonus game. Each Oddssey will have one or more bonus games.

So far we only have one Bonus game and that is Abe's Exoddus.

Right now though OWI is working on a game that is Oddworld but not part of this five part game seris. It is more like a side adventure game that is sort of takeing place at the same time as the events of the quintology only not part of it. Expect a bonus game for Munch and the rest of the five main characters of the quintology. infact I believe Munch will have two Bonus games Munch's Exoddus and something else. But thats just me. I hope this clears it up for you Paramud.

Bonus games are great. I mean, where would we be without AE? It is my favourite game of the OW series so far...

Idea Read this :fuzcool:

I think that the bouns games are great because thay give us somthing to do inbetween the main games,I mean if you only had Abe's oddysee 1997-2000 the game would become boring, and you would tire of Oddworld, then when Munches Oddysee came to be you would not remember and you would never get to play the game, and besides, it's Oddworld you are allways going to want new surprises that get odder every time!

The next big quiestion is.......what will they come up with next.
