How do you think Slogs Reproduce?
Also do you think that there are other types of slog on Oddworld than those we have already seen?

I reckon they reproduce sexually, like us. Therefore you could have Female Slogs aswell. Which Maybe behave differently to Male Slogs.

How do you get adult Slogs and Sloggies in the same Sloghut? Simple - eggs. Transported around just as freely as Labour Eggs. That's not official, of course, just providing a counter-arguement.

And why are you so fed up with super-species on Oddworld? I can't imagine you walk around a forest or nature reserve, point at animals and say "Oh, dammit! Another bloody species that reproduces sexually!" Queens just seem to be the prominant reproductive model on Oddworld, is all. And if you're sick of super-species, look at Scrabs, Paramites, Gabbits and Elums.

As we live in and have grown up in a world where most animals reproduce sexually anything else is rather odd and cool.
After I read what Alf said the idea of a Slog queen didn't seem so bad. However if they push the Queen idea any further look what happens.

1) Unforunately I have no religion and don't believe in God. If he was so cool (Like the Bible makes out) why didn't he make Earth more original. That is more reason to believe he isn't real.

2) You will see. On 'Nod's Exoddus' when you are killing yet another Industrial Queen (which has been the focus of the last several games since Munch) that Queens are just as unoriginal as Sexual Reproduction.

EDIT: Here, I did it for you, because it was more fun than doing French coursework. I'm sure there's a bigger discussion on this where Khanz joins in the discussion, but I could be wrong on that. Note also that I'm assuming that any reproduction aside from queens involves sex, although maybe not in a form we understand (of course budding and splitting are not sexual, but I seriously doubt an Elum would produce offspring like that).

Oddworld is like Earth whereas there are certain bendable rules by which things on the world generally follow. Also like Earth there are many exceptions, especiall when it comes to living organisms. True Oddworld is full of many diverse races, but just because some are more similar than others doesn't mean they are less "original". This just means that they are closer related organisms. Oddworld has animal classes like Earth, where similar animals are grouped together and grouped into smaller, more similar groups, etc etc until you have individual species. On Oddworld there is an octigi species, all with similar charactersistics. Does this mean that Oddworld is less original? NO. It makes is more believable if anything. Their are not that many ways of sexual reproduction and I don't understand why the queen system being predominant amongst the species should bother you so much. Following is a list of all the named oddworld creatures I could think of, how they reproduce and how we know that.

Queen System: glukkons, mudokons, sligs and slogs (official site for all)

Hermaphrodite: vykkers (official site)

Male and Female: gabbits, paramites, scrabs, elums (gabbits and elums have referances to mating calls on official sources, thus they mate; gabbits are said to spawn; paramites and scrabs both are pack animals with a dominant males and they all scatter nests in their territories)

Unknown: stangs, slurgs*, skrikits*, skeeters, shrykulls, sea rexes, scoots (worryfish)*, meetles and mugs*, rats, mudflubs, meep*, meeches, kintos, khanzumerz (supposedly have a queen but not official), interns, guardians, gloktigi, fuzzles, fleeches, fleas*, fireflies*, elderlings, chroniclers, birds*, bees and bats*


*likely reproduce sexually with male and females

Heres my theory I think Slogs don't reproduce but are created in Vykkers Labs similar to that of the Fleech.

Think about it in many ways they resemble Fleeches sort of. And Fleeches were created by the Vykkers. Well there has to be more test tube creatures out there like what Fleeches are right? And yes Fleeches are not really natural to Oddworld. They were created by the Vykkers So that Glukkon children had there own little pets. But when the fleeches grew bigger they became viscious so the Glukkons flushed them down the toilet where now colonys of Fleeches infest Oddworlds under world. Maybe Slogs were created in the same manner? In MO we see gennetically inhanced sewer slogs curtesy of the Vykkers. Now that to me means that the slogs must be an expierment like what the Fleech is. And possably Slurgs are the same way.

I think Slogs and other unknown creatures were created in Vykkers Labs like Fleeches were to suit the industrial world as sort of an early Vykkers expierment. Now you may say well what about Sloggies? Well Fleeches were born from Vykkers Labs as little larva so Slogs were in a similar fashion as puppys or Sloggies. This to me makes more sense than a Slog queen.


Oddworld has a multitude amount of ways for races to reproduce. Vykkers reproduce A sexually and probabally Interns do the same, Glukkons, Mudokins, and sligs come from a queen. Animal life or natural Oddworld wild life most likely reproduce probabally haveing sex like mammals or reptiles with eggs. Gabbits would fall into that catagory And suposeddly super creatures like Slogs and Fleeches and slurgs and probabally a host of others who seem to not quite fit well in the natural wild life catagory of Oddworld come from the Vykkers.

For some reason, I just don't see them being created by Vykkers, or having a Queen. I think they are just like dogs, except, of course, all the obvious differences. I'm sure if they wre created we would have been told, we were told about Fleeches after all. Although there still is a lot we havn't been told.

Slogs were based on the concept of a K9 companion. Shouldn't they be entitled to reproductive organs like dogs. And let's say they were raised by a queen, why are all these sloggies running around the place. Wouldn't Glukkons train newly hatched sloggies into formidable hunter/killers and release them once they're old enough.

The sloggies in the game are generally accompanied by slogs, which could represent that they are being brought up/nurtured.
