They say the books are like the greatest ever written or something (correct me if I'm wrong). They are good, but I wouldn't say they are that good.

Thought the books were excellent.........when I was younger, an animated version of the fellowship of the rings came out.... technology wasnt what it is now!

The films are really good...cant wait for the next one!
Maybe when theyve finished, Peter Jackson would consider filming The Hobbit, just to show what happened before Frodo and co?

Native Shmeegull rocks.

The movies were alright, but there are many, many other movies that I think were much much better.

The movies are just too damn long. There were a few good parts, but the longness was torture. I really can't see why everybody says it's the best movie ever.

Shmeegull was the best part of the second one. He is a perfect round character, with his personality and the inner conflict and all. If the second movie was just about Frodo, Sam and Shmeegull, then I would have liked it much more. Every other character just talks about useless stuff for too damn long.

I haven't read the books.

I started reading some into the LOTR book, and got confused. I half watched the first movie one night, and it was OK. I wish to see the second one.

And mucnhman, stop using so many ...s! Its annoying that between regular sentences you stick ...s for no reason!

Lord of the Rings was great I think the book is okay, but its no where near as entertaining as other books I have read. I am currently reading the Fellowship of the Ring (number 1) and I only have 8 chapters to go!!! :P

The Silmarilion was written after The LOTR,its sort of the encyclopediaof middle earth, lemme put it this way.

\It is long, there are tons of names that you may or may nothave to remember, but its very very good and will help you understand the other books and the movies. I suggest you read it.

The two towers is just as good as number one. I especially loved when the Spolier:

The tree herders came and struck against Isenguard. And sauroman my fav bad guy besides the wraiths, was shocked at what was happening. I will most likely read the history books on middle earth.(Tolkeins books/encyclopedia type thing on Middle Earth.

You should watch the extended version of number one. Certain parts of the Two Towers make a lot more sense in my opinion after watching it. Although I have both the theatrical and extended so I watched both after I saw the second movie. Hopefully they do an extended version of the two towers though. From what I have heard that the second book since it is the longest out of the three books in the trilogy, its actually twice as long as the movie. Many battles were also just skipped over, as some more stuff with frodo, sam, and gollum. So most likely the extended version should be another hour or more longer. Can't wait.

I would have to say above sauroman. Sauron is really awesome in fellowship when he is fighting off all those guys, just smashing them out of his way like they were figurines.

Lord of The Rings is pretty good... But I wouldn't say THAT good. The plot is pretty good but I didn't like the parts where Aarogon and/or Legolas seem to know everything. Heh, this would really piss off my friend at school. He's like this super LOTR freak. He watches LOTR every single weekend, and knows basically everything. He collects LOTR warhammer(ONLY LOTR warhammer) and keeps humming that Lord Of The Rings tune.
