Sligs Oddysee
Introduction:
-Magog Cartel Secure Location Number 101-
-Date: unknown, roughly the same day as the birth of Abe-
Deep in the bowels of the mountain, through the security doors, tunnels, guards, and down the many lifts was the chamber. In the chamber, down the slime covered slope, across the rusted metal walkway over the small ravine and stream, on the isolated platform, laid Skillya. She lay there, complaining and screeching, being constantly scrubbed clean by her Mudokon servants. The puss oozed and burst from her disgusting and slimy abdomen, which had not laid an egg in several hours. She howled again in pain. “SLAVE!” she cried out to the nearest Mudokon “GET THE DOCTOR!” her small Slig body hung limply above the ground WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR YOU SCUM!?” The Mudokon bowed swiftly and ran off as Skillya coughed loudly and sprayed green slime all over another of her slaves.
The messenger ran across the dangerously weak metal walkway, up the moss covered slope, which was very slippery, through the maximum security doors and turned left to the nearby lift. He stepped inside and began to tug on the ropes and chains. ‘What right does she have?’ He thought ‘she’s just an egg layer…’ After 50 floors had rose past, all with different security levels. Hands horribly chaffed, he reached the top and came up behind two Slig guards standing at the entrance to the lift shaft.
“So then, I says: GET IM! And the Slog tears of the stupid Muds face!” yelled one Slig to the other, they both roared with laughter. They had not noticed the messenger. “Excuse me….” He said. The Sligs spun on the spot guns raised “FREEZE!” yelled the first. The messenger cowered on the ground “I-it’s the Queen…S-she’s requesting the Doctor…” The Sligs looked at each other and nodded. One ran off to a Voice lock and gave a short code “Bs-Bs-Bs-Smo Bs-Bs-Hehehe” and then said “Its happening Doctor, the project is on its way…” After saying this he returned to the other Slig’s side and gave a thumb’s up sign. The Mudokon slowly shuffled backwards towards the chains of the lift. “Where d’ya think you’re goin’?” croaked the Slig on the left “Yeah” said the other “You think you’re going back? You heard the code!” The Mudokon's stomach lurched “B-but I didn’t hear the…” His mind went numb. He knew what Sligs were like, well, if they were anything like their queen. He felt a sharp pain on the back of his head; one of the Sligs had clubbed him with his gun. The other shoved him backwards and he hit the wall of the lift shaft. “Send the Queen our love. Hehehe” The messenger knew he was going to die, he closed his eyes and thought of Necrum, and the forests, and of streams, which he had never seen, but he imagined them, thought of them, pictured them hard, and… …!!!RATATATATAT!!!
-10 minutes later-
The Doctor, a young Vykker, reached the lift shaft of level 50. He saw two Sligs standing at the entrance, and several Mudokons scrubbing the red stains from the ground. There was a splatter up the wall, and a trail leading down the corridor. “Are you the Doc!?” barked one of the Sligs. “Yes. Yes I am” replied the Vykker (in his upper class English accent), looking around. “I expected a maximum security level to be…well…secure. Perhaps…metal, not stone.” The Slig shrugged, not really caring what his post was made from. “Take the lift down 50 levels to floor 100. MUD!” he yelled at the closest Mudokon “Bring the Doc to level 100!” The cowering Mudokon ran to the lift and held the chains. “My gratitude” said the Vykker to the Slig. As the lift moved downwards the Vykker heard the Slig mutter something like ‘Ponce’. ‘Ignorant fool’ thought the Vykker smugly ‘Soon he will be obsolete…’ He reached floor 100 and told the Mudokon to stay, then he scuttled to the doors and stepped through. His eyes scanned the chamber ‘disgusting’ he though. Slowly, the Vykker worked his way down the slope, making sure not to slip, and then across the walkway, hoping it would not collapse. “So…” he began “SO WHAT!?” came Skillya’s reply, she coughed and hacked loudly “yes…quite. Anyway, I can she the drugs have made you unstable…but I am sure it is due soon.” Skillya writhed slightly “HE BETTER BE WORTH THIS!” The Vykker stood coolly, observing her, and swaying slightly to avoid her green ‘spit’. “I’m sure he will be. Now when it comes…” he said to the slaves “You must not drop it down the chute. We cannot risk that. Send it up to level 36. There will be a Vykker in a pod waiting, once I summon one.” The slaves nodded. “IS THAT IT!?” screamed Skillya “NO PAIN KILL…AARGH!” Her abdomen pulsed. “No, we cannot risk giving you drugs, it may harm the project. Anyway, it looks like you do not have long to wait. Goodbye.” He turned and scuttled slowly away, one thought on his mind ‘If the project is like her, I’m not advising it…’
To be continued
