Exclamation Biggest Virus to hit Microsoft, ever!

Ok as some of you people know, there was a Computer Virus that hit Microsofts main website On last Tuesday I think at midnight. In this morning paper it tells us that the Virus can get into your computer via email. This means some e-mails contain a virus that will crash your computer and gain access to your name ect ect.
Luckily in todays paper it tells us what e-mails contain the virus:

If this is the Blaster Worm, I'm not concerned. It doesn't affect Windows '98.

What the worm does it get in through address books or similar, and send them out to people making it look like you sent them. I've gotten loads of returned emails from websites because of a virus being attatched, when the email wasn't sent by me or my address at all.

I've seen at least half of those titles, too. In fact, I just deleted a RE: That movie.

In the local paper (EDP) this morning, they advertised on the front 'How to protect your computer against bugs'. Great, I thought, a chance to iron out the glitches in my computer programming'. Actually, that's a lie, I though 'You don't know squat, you bunch of arises'. Anyway, they mentioned a more recent 'virus' called SoBig F, which is apparently the fastest spreading computer virus ever. So fast, in fact, I haven't even heard of it.

The Blaster Worm coverage reminds me of the SARS coverage, which was probably one of the least concerning diseases in the history of mankind.

Anyway, carry on.

I forget exactly why. Something to do with it only seriously harming those who were frail or not having a decent immune system anyway. Everyone else just got over it like the flu. I was exagerating when I said the 'least concerning disease. A dangerous stunt to pull, I know.

I like Microsoft a lot, but they're getting viruses all the time! I would like to purchase a Mac. They hardly ever get targeted for viruses, because there aren't as widely used as Microsoft. Mac the Janitor knows what I'm talking about! Don't ya Mac?

Hooray. I can't get that virus. It doesn't affect '98.

The reason no one ever targets Mac's is because no one ever uses them.

Actually a lot of people do use macs. In general, the Mac OS X is a lot better than Windows. Very expensive though... But Linux blows them all out of the water, at least according to what I've heard.

Anyway, I hate viruses. I got hit by the blaster worm (which I deleted) but I am unable to patch up the RPC vulnerability because I don't have service pack 2. Then I tried to download service pack 2 and it has issues. ARRRGH!! And now my comp has a trojan on it, which I can see but can't get rid of because the process wasn't started by my freaken excuse of a computer! Then I look on the Microsoft site for ways of terminating remote processes and it comes up with lines of code that I don't understand and even worse, don't know how to run. Now svchost.exe keeps stuffing up whenever I connect to the internet and disables heaps of browser functions and stuffs up the rest of my comp!!!

Sorry I have not replied to this thread, I was away for the weekend. Wow i'm glad this thread helped a few of you.
I have another tip on how to keep virus' away. I f your computer tells you that a virus has appeared, then Re-boot your computer to a few weeks before the virus and kinda change the past for a better future.

I just use Outlook XP which blocks those attachments anyway. But I have up to date virus software as well, just in case. I wouldn't want to risk getting a virus by slacking and not having virus software installed.

I've never been hit by a virus. Hope I don't jinx it! Anyway, I only open e-mails form people I know. Ta-Da!

There are some things about Mac that I like better than Microsoft. For instance....."iMovie" is ten times better than "windows movie maker".

Indeed. But only for people who know much about computers or have a lot of time.
