Stuck in Mudanchee Vaults

Fellow Oddworldians, can anyone help me out of Mudanchee Vaults?

I have done all vaults except the center door, (enter to screen SVP03C02).

I can slap the first two traps, then fly around 2 or 3 screens where I have very little time to run off to the right and hoist up onto a ledge.

My problem is: I can barely get Abe's arms up before a scrab gets Abe. This is after about 50 plus tries where on most attempts he just slams into the wall.

What am I supposed to do here?

use the invincible cheat which is: while holding R1 press O, triangle, square, then X. then press down, down, down, then press O, triangle, square, X and then you'll be invincible to everything exept big pits and and death traps.

it works!

This is AE running on a PC, the square's and triangles mean nothing to me

give it an try to stun the scrab by chanting (0)

I've never had any trouble with this. Make sure you're holding the run buttons before you land so you set off immediately. If that still fails, like big bro boogie says, careful timing of your chant should stall the Scrab.

I can't remember whether or not there's a security orb, though, which would hinder you.

I'm glad that I am unique and no-one else has problems here.

This is what I've tried:
running, run-jumping, and hopping, all to no avail.

The chant doesn't have time to stop the scrab before it snuffs abe, then abe gets zapped with the no-chant orb.

Could it have anything to do with the fleechs abe steped on a few screens back?

No, it wouldn't have anything to do with that. I'm really puzzled by this. Are you sure you don't have an Invinsibility gift or something?

Tell you what, I'm going to go hunting for my PlayStation and have a look myself. I can't remember where I put it, though...

Just played the level you're having difficulty with. Lemme just make sure I'm thinking about the right place though... after the room above the main path you go in the left well where the Scrab is standing, then the right one, then you land and have to run and reach the ledge above the Slam Door, yes?

Yeah, I just did that, ran to the right, did a running jump and joisted up. Plenty of time. Whereabouts on the screen is the Scrab when you land on the ground?

That was what I needed, I didn't realize I could run and jump up onto the ledge. I was always stopping first and then hoisting up.

lol, well I think it's a pretty important move. You must have run/jumped before, I guess you just never realised you could do that with ledges and hoisting. Well, glad to be of service. As it turns out, my PS wasn't very far. Listening to the soundtrack from AO has enocuraged me to play the game again.
