paramites

can abe possess paramites? i cant remeber and dont have a good save point near them.

i think the paramite run would have been a lot cooler if they walked up walls and kept chasing you untill you left thier "nesting" area and then slowly dropped off your tail. that way those platforms in the area would be UNsafe to stand on but people would think they were ok. i think it would make it more fun if they had us thinking we were safe. since these games have little repay value in terms of story, it would be ok to die many times before figuring out the right way to beat a level. even more so would be great to think that i had beat the level only to die because i put the controller down to celebrate.

In MO you can attack other paramites, not in AE

I think P's should be more advanced in the next game and should be able to climb walls etc.

Paramites can climb walls in MO to a limited degree.

But I think it's universally agreed that Paramites and Scrabs should either be left out of gameplay or be made an interesting part of the gameplay rather than just be given pathetic little cameo appearances.

And i want it to be more dark. Like saaaay;

Your in a P enclosure time thing with a few solitary Sligs roaming around, after pulling a lever you see a cut scene of aload of P's escaping their compound, clambering up walls and then attacking the Sligs, pulling them apart and tearing into them. Shearing their skin off. And if you wait at that part of the game, say, leave it for a couple of hours. The P's will actually start to nest and web the place up, trapping their prey in the webs.

That would be cool Jacob.

I have much simpler tastes: paramites that don't sound so damn stupid. They were great in the Abe games but in MO they just sounded like pigs.

Also in the abe games the Paramites had personality. They would attack you differently based on what you were doing and if there were othe Paramites around but in MO they just chased you. There wasn't even an element of problem solving - you just had to run as fast as possible.

What I loved about AE was the puzzles where you had to use Paramites and Scrabs to open doors or kill bad guys. Thats what I would want for O4; not just a cheap cameo

Happy the importance of possession

I would love for OWI to go back to what made the the Abe games such a success. New things are always good but the developers also need to stick to the tried and true.

The paramites and scrabs were very lame in MO. In AE you had to posses them and use them to get past certain areas. In MO they were there just so that you could run away from them.

I hope that some of the creatures in the next game have very important roles when possessed. I want more levels where I NEED to possess a paramite to use its abilities to progress through the game.

And please OWI... bring back the old skreeches and knuckle rubbing of the paramites. Seriously... oinking paramites? That is just pure lazyness.

I see what you mean, it will make the game more chalenging, and more intresting to play, cause run from them is not that intresting.

I like the playful but dangerous actions the paramites made in the Abe games. That screech was awesome plus the paramites comanding one another to do stuff. Remember in AE in the Mudomo Valts I forget which secret area it was but you had to possess the paramite and have him climb up the webs to pull the ring before the rocks were to crush you. Then you had to climb him further up the webs and now there were Mudokins in the back ground being threaten by more falling rocks. But there was another paramite standing on a platform in the area to talk to and command him to pull the other ring. Phew when I played that part for the first time it was so hard that I kept messing up the commands and haveing the mudokins get crushed by the rocks. Now it's as easy as pie for me.

I want to see Meat sacks make a comeback and I want to see that playful attitude the Paramites had before they ate you or chased you. I want to be abel to solve puzzles by playing with the paramites in order to get through an area. And imagine in 3D playing in an enviorment that is more or less like the Mudomo Valts or the Paramonian Temple. Where you have deep casems and high cliffs everywhere with Paramite nests in the walls and caves. That would be so cool to see and play in 3D.

Which leaves me to a new element I came up with for the Paramite. Now imagine throwing a peace of meat to a Paramite in the next game. Remember it will be in 3D. Well like in the Abe games they go to it and start to devour it. But this time the Paramite kind of inspects the meat or sniffs it before they eat it. Because he is not quite sure about the condition of the peace of meat because it doesn't smell right to him.

So the Paramite screams out loud and suddenly a bunch of webbing start to form in the area and you see a bunch of Paramites comming into the area from all around you. They ignor you at the moment but they all converge onto the meat. They all start inspecting it aswell. They start screeching to each other sort of like a conversation is going on by makeing this horrible screeching noise as you see them tossing the meat among them selves. Then suddenly they toss the meat over to you. They all start stareing you down moveing slowly and screaming and screeching as they suddenly attack you with the meat untouched. Because it was rotten meat. I want to see caution in the Paramites senses. And I want the meat sacks to hold rotten meat as well as good meat. I would like to see something kind of like that in future games.

If OWI is not saying anything then the next game will be incrediable. MO had tons of potential but they made that big mistake in showing us everything. Now is different. MO is still a fun game but the future of Oddworld I balieve is going to be much better.

PA, there wasn't much to show us... *grim smile at stupidly funny though*

Paramites have a role, rip people up and nest, actualy being cool, how wrong and un great-gamelike. In Alien Vs. Predator you could play as an alien. You were fast, would bite peoples heads off, climb walls and ducts, etc... Your vision was also warped, it gave a real appearance. The thing I wanted to see though is nesting. Same goes iwth the paramites. A real, sense of purpose, go around do stuff type junk.

Oink oink.

I like PA's idea. I would also like to see an old factory were they stored the P's for butchering. But instead of it being working its swamped with P webbing and nests and such.

In the Abe games, the P's were quite amusing. In the first one on a certain level one of the P's even tried to make you follow it (Well, thats how i explain lack of AI anyway.).

I'd like to see a working society type thingy in compound of a P's nesting site. And be able to run along beams, with the P's watching you. Sometimes attempting to follow. Some carrying their young deep into their nest. I would also like to see the ability of Karma. Where if you help a Paramite, then that creature wont attack you, nor will its nest site. But if you burn (Fire-Fire) its nest down then they will become pissed at you and every group you see will attack you...ripping you apart...Obviously, if you help one another clan will still attack you. And after a while that creature you saved will attack you. I also want to see Scrabs and Paramites fight...And a new indigeous creature, that hunts you properly and uses proper tactics to kill its prey.

On a different topic, BC claims to have all this...joy(!)
