Question Inanimate director

I have the patched version of Exoddus for WinXP.

I'm at the Feeco Depot, at the stage where I'am supposed to take control over the director, but his not animated. He's frozen

Anyone else come across this problem?

wow, that's strange... I've never seen that, sorry.
And you can't possess V. P. Aslik (the director ) either?

Yes, I can posess him, and make one 90 degree turn - and that's it... He's got very pale colors, look like an object that doesn't belong there at all.... Arghhh, I was so happy to get it going on XP....

Have a look at V. P. Aslik here

And he's just standing there? That's odd...
I think there is a bug in your program of AE or something.

hmmm too weird....

I thought it might the game or something on my system, being XP, that caused this problem, so I took the save game to another computer with Win98, wanting to play past this point on the 98 machine. Turned out the same thing happened there too

Then I thought it might be the saved game, so I started from an earlier point, still the same. Now I'm wondering if it might be the CD ? To rule out the CD as the culprit.... I could use a hand from one of you on his forum.

Could I send the saved game file to you, so that you could try it for me? The game is saved next to the director, so it's only a matter of walking up to him and see what he looks like.

I'd apreciate it if somebody would care to do it. Mail me please

I cleaned the disc, but the problem is still there. I've mailed Infogrames about the problem, and will let you know if they are able to figure it out.

I understand if you might be reluctant to send you email address to me, so I have ziped the sav file, you can find it here:

Abes saved game

It would help in the support case I have with Infograms as well, but I understand you might be sceptical to download a file from a stranger, in this day and age..... but I can assure you of my sincerity about solving this issue.

I assure you that the file is virus free, and that it is a genuine sav file.

If you feel you could test it for me I'd be very happy to rule out the possibility of a corrupt CD, or confirm it would be even better!

Although I don't have WindowsXP, I did try your saved game, seeing that no one else has done so as yet.

I found that Aslik was also frozen on my screen (usually he moves around the small room he is in) also. However I could use Abe to possess him and continue on as per usual (move him normally around and use gamespeak).

It seems to be that your version may have "created" this in the save file, therefore if it is played on any other installation of Abe's Exoddus, other users too might get the same problem. But since the save file only has the view of where he is at the save file, after that may continue on.

Can you upload another save file from the point where you have possessed Aslik and he will not move?

Perhaps another XP user can try the file as well and let us know if they get the same problem.

Abe Babe...

Thanks for testing for me!

I ended up having to copy an earlier save over on a 98 box, then play until Aslik was no longer needed on the 98. I tried copying a save to the XP after he was posessed and in the next screen, but no way - he was frozen then as well

I'll put a save where he is posessed up on the same location. naming the file abe1.zip.

Thanks for helping me out Abe Babe
