PROLOUGE
The mistress ran through the night. Her bare feet made rhythmic sounds as they hit the ground. She was certain that she heard someone call her name behind her. She ignored it as much as she could, they had nothing to do with this. It was her fight this time. She had to be careful, which mad it impossible for her to do her old tricks. Now she regrets that she didn’t leave it where it was, but it belonged to her. She could not allow him to get her or her belonging. Never! She was filled of the sure feeling and kept running. She didn’t hear him anymore and slowed down. After a while she stopped completely to catch her breath. She looked on the thing she held. She smiled.
“No one will ever get you, Æche’kca Tecora…” she whispered and didn’t notice the figure coming out of the shadow.
“Hello there…” he said. She saw him and drew her sword. He did the same.
“I see you have one of those too. Expensive huh? How many hours did you give for it?”
“Go away, I’m not afraid of you.”
“I will, right after you give me that you have.”
“Since when did you become a low thief who steals from ladies?” she said and attacked the one in front of her. He easily protected himself and pushed her back.
“You’ve weakened since our last meeting.” He said and with a cry he attacked her. She slipped away and made an attempt to stab him in the back. He rolled away and tried to kick her. The fight continued. Suddenly a shadow came out through the darkness, quickly grabbed the thing she held and ran away. The mistress was caught by surprise.
“Hey! No! Come back!” The mistress screamed. She was just about to follow him when she realized she didn’t know where he’d run.
“Watch your back, darling!”
The life of the mistress quickly ended.

“Now what is this…?” the hungry thief said and carefully unwrapped the thing from the sheets. Inside he saw a small crying child.
“Uh-oh…” he said, wrapped the sheets back on and looked around. Someone… someone… He saw someone, rather young, female, dressed funny…
Ah, she’ll do… he thought, quickly walked away to her and pushed the child in her arms.
“You have to help this child! I took it away from a murderer!”
The mudokon looked at him, surprised.
“If you excuse me, I have to run away…” he said and ran. The mudokon looked on the child and smiled.

Well, what do you think? Bad? Good? Complicated? Crap?

Kewl story so far Silver. I like the air of mystery it has about it.

Wow! Two posts in a day! Must be a record, thankie!

CHAPTER 1
“So…” Eche said, looking on the pile of books. “Is this the only thing I’ll get to do for today as well? You know what? I’m extremely bored.”
“I know.” Carmisan said, checking his nails. “Believe me, it isn’t that much fun to be forced to clean up everything. Make the beds, clean out the stables, take care of him or her, do that, do that…”
Eche smiled at him.
“Maybe we can switch. You can read, huh?”
“Nope. Definitely not, I don’t need it, do I?”
“Maybe not.” Eche said and walked away to the window. She saw the small road, the fields, the sea and the walls. Beside the sun, she saw two half-moons.
“Carmisan, don’t you have things to do?”
“Eh…”
He looked confused for a while.
“No, I don’t think so… Maybe… Did I… yes, I did. See ya!” he said and quickly ran out of the door. She closed it after him and sat down on the bed. She didn’t want to read the books. She wanted to run, simply run away and simply come back say hello now and then…maybe… She smiled and dreamed away. To places that needed help, where she came and offered her rather magical skills to sort things out. Although, she never succeeded to find out how she would defeat the things threatening people, neither why it did it or who it was… She found it frustrating. She looked on the window again, seeing her plant didn’t feel so good. She sang, quietly, and wished it to grow again. She walked out of the room. Down the stairs, stared back at the paintings, sang to the plants, gave the library and the readers a bored look and went out in the garden. Same old flowers. She wondered if they were real, she’d never seen them bad or anything. All that happened was that they disappeared in winter. She had a feeling she wanted to sing them into disappearing, but she didn’t do a thing. She looked at the gate. A mudokon. Dark, robed, wearing a hood and holding a black staff with a lot of magical runes on it. Eche was just about to wonder who he was, until he took the hood off. A giant piece of ice appeared in her stomach. She looked at herself. Older, changed, but herself. The one at the gate smiled at her, a sad smile. She put the hood back on and disappeared out of the small village. Eche looked at the gate. She’d seen such things before, but they were never like this. She’d never been awake when it happened before.

*listens to the radio, looks around and wonders if I should buy another game*

CHAPTER 2
She was confused. Why did that happen? She sat in the library, looking at Angelo going between all the shelves, carrying various objects with him.
“Would you like to help me, Eche?” he said when the books for the fourth time fell down on the floor. She picked them up and followed him.
“So how is your mother nowadays?” he asked, putting the books in the right order. She sighed.
“I’ve not heard from her for a long while. I’m getting a bit worried.”
“Are you saying that you don’t know where she is?”
“I know she’s on a trip somewhere in Mudos. I wonder what’s happening there. Maybe something bad has happened to her.”
“Well…” he caught a book that tried to fall down. “Mail isn’t what it used to be.”
She smiled and then sighed again.
“Angelo… I’m bored. I mean, I’ve got lots of things to do, but I don’t want to… I’m grateful you all help me to control this I’ve got, but I don’t want to anymore. It sounds strange, I know, but I need something else to do. Something!”
He looked at her for a while.
“I’ve got new books. Some of them are very promising.”
“Books are boring! This whole place is boring! I need something to do!”
“Some day, you’ll regret those words. I know you will. One day, you’ll look back to these days and say to who ever that’s listening, ‘Those were the good old days…’. “
He smiled and patted her shoulder. She patted him back. Someone opened the door.
“Angelo…” the guard Cait said, pointing outside. “I think we need some of your help.”

The mumble of the arguing people was loud. Angelo tried to spot the thing they were discussing.
“What’s happening, Cait?” he asked. Eche was standing beside him, staring at the woods behind the walls. It was hard to see anything in the middle of the night.
“People are afraid. They think it’s something in the woods. We can’t be too careful, so I thought, maybe you could fix it.”
“Me, the most glorious keeper of the library?”
“Yeah, I thought that…”
Someone walked out of the woods. He stopped in front of the gate and awaited someone to ask him a lot of questions and open up. A guard came and started the long questioning. Cait and Angelo walked away to hear what they said. Eche stood there, looking around herself. She wanted to go and listen, but knew it was too many there to hear well. Someone suddenly put a dirty piece of cotton over her mouth. She barely made it to understand that it happened before a sack was put over her head and she was carried away.

CHAPTER 3

She felt swinging and rocking under her. She was sitting on something soft, still having the sack over her head. She smelled salt and heard people shouting and swearing everywhere. Someone came down a stair. She tried to say something, but it became nothing but a mumble. Someone pulled the sack off her head. The light was dazzling first, but she slowly got used to the light. It stood someone there. He untied her hands. Eche removed the cotton herself and looked on the stranger. He seemed to look at her too.
“Who are you, where am I and why am I here?” she asked him. He didn’t reply. Eche sighed and looked around herself. She was sitting in a small room with a window, everything was wooden and she was on the lower one of two beds. It was a stair at the other side of the room. The stranger still hadn’t moved. Eche rubbed her wrists.
“What is this place?” she asked. Not even a reaction. She reached out a hand and touched him. He grabbed her hand. She tried to pull it back.
“I was waiting for that movement.” He said with a dark voice.
“Let go and answer my questions! Why am I here?!”
“Because Pargas brought you here. This is a boat. Her name is Prydwen. My name is Jachar. You’re here because someone told us to rid you from your village.”
“Rid me? Why? Am I dangerous? Is something dangerous for me? Is something happening?”
“A friend from your village tried to get you out of there. I don’t know why. Carmisan sends his regards and says that he will try to keep your flower alive. I guess he knows something too.”
“Yeah, thanks Jachar. Where are we going?”
“To Mudos. People says it’s the place where miracles takes place. I seriously doubt that because of the ongoing war between the mudokons and the glukkons. If I were you I would stay close to the sea. Usually, glukkons don’t care about the ones by the sea.”
“Mudos? That’s not too bad, I guess. Thanks for answering my questions, Jachar.”
“Ah… No problems.” He said and walked up the stairs. Something crashed and people yelled at each other. She fought a will to get out. After all, she knew what she wanted to. Didn’t she? She laid down on the bed. She decided that she would try to find Pargas later. Who ever he was.
