Didn't we have a music topic like 2 days ago? Oh well, I'm bored so... this is the music I listen to.

Punk: The good stuff. NOFX, Rancid, Dead Kennedys, bands like that.
Pop-Rock: Sum 41, blink-182, and espicially Green Day. You know, stuff that nobody else but me likes. Oh, and Jimmy Eat World sucks.
J-Pop: This stuff is like soul food for me. Shonen Knife, BOA, and Guitar Vader rock the f**king house!
Indy: I've been drifting into the Indy/Geek Rock scene lately, thanks to bands like The Strokes, White Stripes, and The Hives.
Unique Bands: Gorillaz and Cibo Matto defy explaination. A fusion of various genres...
A Few Metal Bands: Mainly SOAD, but I'll listen to other stuff if it proves itself worthy of my ears.

And there you have it... my well organized musical taste spawned by bordem...

I thought Gorillaz was indie. *shugs*

I'd class Cibo Matto as JSRF Music. :P

Pop, R&B, some of the 'lighter' rock, love songs, new age...I am actually pretty flexible. The only things you wouldn't catch me willingly listening to are Country, hard rock, and Rap.

Some of the artists I listen to:

Creed, Yanni, Madonna, linkin park, bon jovi, and a few others (I am not going to say what they are cause I know there are a lot of peeps on this board that dispise them...so...yes...I am saving myself from having to wash tomato juice out of my hair... )

I like:

Metal - this is actually a very broad genre... it encompasses traditional Metal, Nu-Metal (which sucks monkeypoo), Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Speed Metal, Black Metal, and elements of Techno, Industrial and Hip-Hop. Death and Black metals are my favourites.
Classical
Rock
early Punk
some Indie - I only like Garbage and Catatonia, and I think Gorillaz are okay. I don't like any other Indie bands... especially Stereo-bloody-phonics.
Dance - another very broad genre. I hate pop-cum-dance, like Shitney Spears and Christina Crapalira. I'm not too keen on Trance, either. Ferry Corsten and the artists in his mixes are good, though... I just don't like mainstream Ibiza trance. I also like Techno, House, Hard House, BigBeat, BreakBeat, Trypno, Hard Hop, Electronica and Techy-Breaky House (okay, I made that last one up). I don't like Nu-Wave, Trip Hop, Garage or Synth.
Reggae
Calypso & Soca - I can't tell the difference between the two, though.

That's it! You make ALL those music genres up! You just pick random words and occasionally two random words to make up these 'genres'...

I like mainly rock with a few exceptions. Some of my favorite bands are: Linkin Park, P.O.D., System of a Down, ACS, Good Charlotte, Greenday, Blink 182 and Korn.

I also like my band, which includes my friend on guitar, a person I know on bass and me on drums. I also do the vocals with the guitarist. We play mostly punk with some gothic influence (that's my fault) and we have written some good songs. We have only been practicing for less than a year so we don't have much experience. But we are getting better. We practice about twice a week.

So if you ever see a CD by a group called Psoriasis... please buy it.

It is that skin disease. And before you ask, I am just as curious (if not more) to learn why I picked that name. Anybody have any ideas so that I can have a good answer next time somebody asks me?

I generally try and stay away from these music topics....because some of you have really bad taste....*coughLukecough*

hee.

Actually, it takes all kinds of people to make this dirtball go whee, so I might as well hold back on the snide remarks this time.

Mac, I was most pleased to see that I am not the only bad religion fan around. I recently went to the warped tour [only to see bad religion, I might add] and my friends and I got to meet the band, and hang out with them for a pretty good portion of the day.

Okay...enough of my babble...or not.

I like a lot of different bands, and I hate the ideas of genres, mainly because they often bamboozle me.

I do ultra happy dance of glee for:
The Ramones...I mean, come on...where would we be without the Ramones?

Rancid...I've listened to these guys since I was but a wee lad.

Pinhead Gunpowder...If you like green day's older shit, these guys are for you.

Bad Religion...These guys have really deep lyrics. That's a good thing.

Blur...I've also been listening to these guys forever.

Soulfly/Sepultura/Nailbomb....Mmmm Brazilian Metal at it's finest!

Camp Kill Yourself...These guys are kind of a jerk off band, but I love them anyway.

Crisis...Awesome chick band. And oh so attractive!

Tsunami Bomb...Another good band, fronted by a lovely lady who I've hung out with numerous times...and grown quite fond of.

Screaching Weasel...A little too poppy for my taste, but good enough.

Zebra Head...These guys are so diverese...I can't help but love them.

Rammstein...These guys have great industrial music, and put on killer shows.

Static-X....I've been listening to these guys since they were a pre label band..Back in the good ole' days when they were just 'static'.

Weird Al...awesome guy. Been to about 6 of his concerts, and had a blast. Got the chance to hang out with him a few times, too. Nice guy.

Beastie Boys!..I love these guys. I know the words to most of their songs....I just like them a whole lot.

I also do ultra hatey dance of pain for many, many, many bands...But I'm far too lazy to list them.

You actually got to meet them? That must have been pretty sweet!

Yeah, I like their lyrics, too. It's really unusual to find a punk band like that.

good lyrics + good music = good fun!

Yeah, it was pretty rad. Greg was a bit stand offish, but he was still a cool guy. Everyone else was really nice, and we got their personal emails, numbers, and adresses so we can interview them for our magazine...haha, it pays off to have hot chick friends when you want something from a band..

We've called a couple of times already to set up an interview...it was great.

I like Punk, and Pop-Rock. Bad Religion is quite sweet, Mac and Dave aren't alone. Greenday, New Found Glory, MxPx, Jimm Eat world, Sum41, Less Than jake, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, you get the idea.
Dace: My brother also went to Warped Tour when it was in Dallas. He says it was great, no? He also went to the Bad Religion/Less Than Jake tour a while back. Shame I'm not "old" enough to go to concerts. Parents these days...

Well now I’m really into my personal band, sometimes I’d rather just listen to us play then to listen to the pro's, it's good because you can play what's in your head, sometimes it turns out real bad other times the exact opposite, I highly recommend you people join one.

Horror Rock: Currently, only 3 bands qualify in this category: Manson, Rob Zombie, and The Misfits. While I can barely stomach the first two, (I can listen to them, but I wouldn't evver buy one of their CDs) The Misfits are the only true Horror Rock band. An accurate description of The Misfits would be The Ramones + Elvis + The Crypt Keeper. Do yourself a favor and go check out "Collection 1" or "Cuts from the Crypt". Classic peices of Rock 'n' Roll history...

Rock: Red Hot Chili peppers, Nirvana, Green day
